Alessandra Maiorino
Alessandra Maiorino (born 24 July 1974) is an Italian politician of the Five Star Movement, who serves as a Senator. She is a member of the Legislature XVIII of Italy. Biography Education She graduated in Classics, she obtained the teaching qualification in 2012. She has taught in Italy, Germany and Qatar. She collaborated with the online newspaper Cronache Laiche, which deals with secularism, civil rights and politics. Election as Senator In the general elections of 2018 she was elected to the Senate of the Republic in the plurinominal electoral college Lazio - 02 under the Movimento 5 Stelle party. From 3 July 2018 to 16 October 2019 she held the role of Vice-President of the International Area of the 5 Star Movement Parliamentary Group in the Senate under the Conte I Government. Italian Senate
The Senate of the Republic ( it, Senato della Repubblica), or simply the Senate ( it, Senato), is the upper house of the bicameral Italian Parliament (the other being the Chamber of Deputies). The two houses together form a perfect bicameral system, meaning they perform identical functions, but do so separately. Pursuant to the Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the Italian Constitution, the Senate has 200 elective members, of which 196 are elected from Italian constituencies, and 4 from Italian citizens living abroad. Furthermore, there is a small number (currently 6) of senators for life (''senatori a vita''), either appointed or ''ex officio''. Conte I Cabinet
The first Conte government was the 65th government of the Italian Republic. It was led by Giuseppe Conte, an independent, and it was in office from 1 June 2018 to 5 September 2019. The cabinet was formed by a coalition between the Five Star Movement and the League, but it also contained some independents proposed by each party (including the Prime Minister). It was referred to as the "government of change" ( it, governo del cambiamento) after the name of the political agreement signed by the two parties, or the "yellow-green government" (), based on their customary colours, even if the League originally preferred "yellow-blue government" (), due to its new campaign colour under Salvini's leadership. A senate is a deliberative assembly, often the upper house or chamber of a bicameral legislature. Femicide or feminicide is a hate crime which is broadly defined as "the intentional killing of women or girls because they are female," but definitions of it vary depending on cultural context.
