Albert Camille Vital
Brigadier General Albert Camille Vital (born 18 July 1952) is a Madagascar, Malagasy Military of Madagascar, Army officer, politician and civil engineer who was Prime Minister of Madagascar from 2009 to 2011. He is the president of the Parti Hiaraka Isika. Life and career Trained in the Soviet Union, Vital was Chief of the Technical Office of the State Forces Staff Development (1987–1991), and then appointed corps commander of the first regiment of the Military Region No. 5 Toliara (1998–2001) before training at the Ecole Supérieure de Guerre in Paris in 2001–2002. On 20 December 2009, Vital was appointed as List of Prime Ministers of Madagascar, Prime Minister by President Andry Rajoelina, succeeding Eugène Mangalaza. Andry Rajoelina
Andry Nirina Rajoelina (Malagasy: ; born 30 May 1974) is a Malagasy politician and businessman who has been the president of Madagascar since 2019. He was previously president of a High Transitional Authority, provisional government from 2009 to 2014 following a 2009 Malagasy political crisis, political crisis and military-backed coup, having held the office of Mayor of Antananarivo, Mayor of Antananarivo for one year prior. Before entering the political arena, Rajoelina was involved in the private sector, including a printing and advertising company called Injet in 1999 and the ''Viva'' radio and television networks in 2007. Marc Ravalomanana (; born 12 December 1949) is a Malagasy politician who was the President of Madagascar from 2002 to 2009. Born into a farming Merina family in Imerinkasinina, near the capital city of Antananarivo, Ravalomanana first rose to prominence as the founder and CEO of the vast dairy conglomerate TIKO, later launching successful wholesaler MAGRO and several additional companies. He entered politics upon founding the Tiako Iarivo political party in 1999 and successfully ran for the position of mayor of Antananarivo, holding the position from 1999 to 2001. 2013 Malagasy General Election
General elections were held in Madagascar on 20 December 2013, following a first round of presidential elections on 25 October. The presidential elections in December were a runoff between Jean Louis Robinson and Hery Rajaonarimampianina, the top two candidates to emerge from the first round of voting in October. The official results of the second round were announced on 7 January 2014 with Rajaonarimampianina proclaimed the victor with nearly 54% of the vote. The last elected president, Marc Ravalomanana, was unconstitutionally removed from power by mass protests led by Mayor of Antananarivo Andry Rajoelina in early 2009. Cécile Manorohanta (Cécile Marie Ange Manorohanta) is a Malagasy politician serving in the government of Madagascar as deputy prime minister for the interior since 2009. Previously she was Minister of Defense from 2007 to 2009. Manorohanta was appointed as defense minister on 27 October 2007 in the government of Prime Minister Charles Rabemananjara. She was the first female defense minister in her country.
