Eugène Mangalaza
Eugène Régis Mangalaza (born 13 July 1950"Mangalaza Eugène Régis", ''Madagascar: Les Hommes de Pouvoir N°7''Africa Intelligence 13 November 2002 .) is a Malagasy political figure who was appointed as Prime Minister of Madagascar on 10 October 2009 under the terms of an agreement intended to resolve the 2009 political crisis. Career Mangalaza was born in Ambodivoanio, located in northeastern Madagascar. As a professor, he taught at the University of Toliara during the 1980s and was Director of Personnel and Human Resources at the Autonomous Port of Toamasina from 1987 to 1989. In the 1989 parliamentary election, he was elected to the National People's Assembly as an AREMA candidate in Mananara-Nord constituency. He served as a Deputy until the National People's Assembly was dissolved and transitional institutions were established in 1991. Andry Rajoelina
Andry Nirina Rajoelina (Malagasy: ; born 30 May 1974) is a Malagasy politician and businessman who has been the president of Madagascar since 2019. He was previously president of a provisional government from 2009 to 2014 following a political crisis and military-backed coup, having held the office of Mayor of Antananarivo for one year prior. Before entering the political arena, Rajoelina was involved in the private sector, including a printing and advertising company called Injet in 1999 and the ''Viva'' radio and television networks in 2007. He formed political party Young Malagasies Determined and was elected Mayor of Antananarivo in 2007. While in this position, he led an opposition movement against then-President Marc Ravalomanana that culminated in a 2009 political crisis. It was the ruling party of the Democratic Republic of Madagascar, a Marxist–Leninist one-party socialist state, from 1976 to 1992. Didier Ignace Ratsiraka (; 4 November 1936 – 28 March 2021) was a Malagasy people, Malagasy politician and Madagascar Navy, naval officer who was President of Madagascar from 1975 to 1993 and from 1997 to 2002. At the time of his death, he was the longest-serving President of Madagascar. He was first appointed president in 1975 by the military leadership, he was then reelected twice in 1982 and 1989. While he lost to Albert Zafy in 1992, Ratsiraka returned to office after winning the 1997 election. After the 2001 election, he and his opponent Marc Ravalomanana engaged in a lengthy standoff after the latter refused to participate in a runoff election; Ratsiraka eventually stepped down. Monja Roindefo Zafitsimivalo (born 1965) is a Malagasy politician who was Prime Minister of Madagascar from March 2009 to October 2009. He was appointed on 7 February 2009 by opposition leader Andry Rajoelina at the head of Rajoelina's rival government; later, on 17 March, Andry Rajoelina was installed in power by the military, and Monja Roindefo officially took over as Prime Minister. Life and career Roindefo, the son of politician Monja Jaona, was born in Toliara, Atsimo-Andrefana. Roindefo attempted to stand as a candidate in the December 2006 presidential election. Ballot papers for Roindefo, along with some other minor candidates, were not available at polling stations.
