Al Fashir University is a public university in al-Fashir, the capital city of North Darfur, Sudan. Foundation The university was created in 1990 by decree of President Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir, and was officially opened in February 1991 in premises west of al-Fashir airport and South of the al-Fashir school. Teaching There were 11,671 students enrolled in 2011, with 199 faculty members and 243 staff and technical assistants. It is a member of the Association of African Universities. Research Conflict analysis In December 2004 a conference was held to discuss the effect of environmental degradation in causing conflict in Darfur. Faculty and students of the universities of Zalingei, al-Fashir and Nyala presented the findings of their research. Al Fashir, Al-Fashir or El Fasher ( ar, الفاشر) is the capital city of North Darfur, Sudan. It is a large town in the Darfur region of northwestern Sudan, northeast of Nyala, Sudan. Lena El-Sheikh Mahjoub
Lena el-Sheikh Omer Majhoub (also: ''Lina'', ''al-Sheikh'', ''Elsheikh'') became the Sudanese Minister of Labour (or Welfare) and Social Development in early September 2019 in the Transitional Cabinet of Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, during the 2019 Sudanese transition to democracy. Education El-Sheikh obtained her master's degree in development studies at the University of Manchester and a BSc degree at Ahfad University for Women. Academia and management El-Sheikh became an academic staff member of the School of Management Studies at the Ahfad University for Women in 2002. El-Sheikh is interested in promoting corporate social responsibility. She is a co-founder of the Impact Hub Khartoum website, which aims to provide "a cooperative environment for entrepreneurs, intellectuals and innovators". Radio Dabanga (Arabic: راديو دبنقا) is a shortwave radio station, TV and online news magazine, that serves Sudan with daily reports on the latest political, economic and social information, including health issues and social programs such as ''Lost and Found''. The shortwave radio has been broadcasting since 1 December 2008. Current broadcasts last for a total of one hour each day. While Radio Dabanga only broadcast on shortwave radio for the first few years, the station now has several channels. The editors have innovated and experimented in the sphere of new media, often at the request of their listeners. These include Satellite TV, Facebook, WhatsApp, and SoundCloud. Depending on the medium, Radio Dabanga produces news in Sudanese Arabic and/or English. Minni Minawi
Suliman Arcua Minnawi ( ar, سليمان أركو مناوي), known as "Minni Minnawi" (; born December 12, 1968 in Furawiyya, North Darfur), is a Sudanese politician who was the leader of the largest faction of the Sudanese Liberation Army. A former educator, Minnawi was the Secretary of Sudan Liberation Army leader, Abdul Wahid Nur, before the organisation split in 2004. Minnawi signed a treaty, known as the Darfur Peace Agreement, with the Khartoum government in May 2006. Nevertheless, in July 2006, fighting broke out around the North Darfur town of Korma, resulting in the deaths of at least 80 people. Amina J
Aminatu (also Amina; died 1610) was a Hausa Muslim historical figure in the city-state Zazzau (now city of Zaria in Kaduna State), in what is now in the north-west region of Nigeria. She might have ruled in the mid-sixteenth century. A controversial figure whose existence has been questioned by some historians, her real biography has been somewhat obscured by subsequent legends and folk tales.
