Al-Kahrabaa
Al-Kahrabaa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الكهرباء الرياضي, lit=Electricity Club) is an Iraqi professional football club based in the Rusafa District, near the Tigris river, Baghdad, that plays in Iraqi Premier League. History Al-Kahrabaa Sports Club was founded on 21 July 2001 by the Ministry of Electricity. They were promoted to the Iraqi Premier League for the first time for the 2004–05 season where they remained until they got relegated to the Iraq Division One in 2013. They were promoted back to the Premier League at the first attempt under coach Shaker Mahmoud, where they have remained since. During the 2017–18 season, Al-Kahrabaa finished fifth, their best season in history. 2018–19 Iraq FA Cup
The 2018–19 Iraq FA Cup was the 29th edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup as a clubs-only competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football. A total of 20 teams from the Iraqi Premier League and 25 teams from the Iraq Division One and Iraq Division Two participated. It started on 12 September 2018 and the final was played on 26 July 2019 at the Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. The winners of the competition were Al-Zawraa, who extended their record number of cup wins to 16 with a 1–0 victory over Al-Kahrabaa, thanks to a late goal by Safaa Hadi. Format Participation The cup starts with the first round, consisting of 24 teams from the Iraq Division One and Iraq Division Two. 1 team is automatically placed in the playoff round, where they face one of the first round's winners for a place in the Round of 32. 2004–05 Iraqi Premier League
The 2004–05 Iraqi Premier League kicked off on October 20, 2004. The 36 teams were split into four groups. At the end of the group stage, the top three teams from each group (a total of 12 teams) advanced to the Elite Stage, while the bottom three in each group were demoted to the lower division. In the Elite Stage, the 12 teams were split into four groups of three, with teams playing home and away against each team in their group respectively. The top team in each of the four groups moved on to the two-legged semi-finals which determined who played for the championship game; a single match held in Baghdad. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya won their fifth Premier League title with a 2–0 victory over Al-Minaa. The 2021–22 Iraq FA Cup is the 33rd edition of the Iraqi knockout football cup competition, the main domestic cup in Iraqi football, featuring a record 168 clubs from the top four tiers of the Iraqi football league system, (20 from the Iraqi Premier League, 24 from the Iraq Division One and 124 from the Iraq Division Two and Iraq Division Three). The competition began on 10 September 2021 with the first-round matches involving teams from the third and fourth tiers, and will conclude in 2022 with the final at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. Abbas Attiya
Abbas Attiya Zwair (born 25 August 1969), commonly known as Abbas Attiya, is a coach and former Iraqi football player, who is currently a coach of Al-Kahrabaa FC. 2021–22 Iraqi Premier League
The 2021–22 Iraqi Premier League is the 48th season of the Iraqi Premier League, the highest tier football league in Iraq, since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 20 September 2021 and will end on 29 May 2022. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the defending champions after winning their seventh title last season. Al-Sinaa, Newroz and Samarra join as the three promoted clubs from the 2020–21 Iraq Division One. They replace Al-Hudood, Al-Samawa and Al-Sinaat Al-Kahrabaiya who were relegated to the 2021–22 Iraq Division One. The 2017–18 Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز 2017–18) was the 44th season of the Iraqi Premier League, the highest division for Iraqi association football clubs, since its establishment in 1974. The season started on 20 November 2017, and ended on 18 July 2018. Al-Zawraa won a record 14th title, finishing four points ahead of both the previous season's champions and runners-up (Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and Al-Naft respectively) and five points ahead of Al-Shorta. Ali Ebadi Jabbar Al-Ghrebawi, most commonly known as Ali Ebadi or Ali Ibadi ( ar, علي عبادي; born 16 February 2000), is an Iraqi football goalkeeper playing for Al-Kahrabaa in Iraq. Club career Ali Ebadi started his career as a youth player at Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. In 2019 he signed for Al-Naft, before signing for Al-Kahrabaa two years later. He has since established himself as the starting goalkeeper in Luay Salah’s side. Iraqi Premier League
The Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز) is the top level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraq Division One. The league was formed by the IFA in 1974 as the Iraqi National Clubs First Division, the first nationwide league of clubs in Iraq. The current format sees 20 teams playing 38 matches each (playing each team in the league twice, home and away), totalling 380 matches in the season. Of the 80 teams to have competed since the inception of the league in 1974, eleven have won the title. Al-Zawraa are the most successful club with 14 titles, followed by Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Talaba and Al-Shorta, who together contest the Baghdad derbies. Luay Salah Hassan ( ar, لؤي صلاح حسن , born February 7, 1982 in Baghdad, Iraq) is an Iraqi former football player. He played for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Zawraa, Persepolis and Erbil. He scored 121 Iraqi Premier League goals in his career. Al-Karkh Sports Club ( ar, نادي الكرخ الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Karkh, Baghdad. Its professional football team plays in the Iraqi Premier League, the top tier of the Iraqi football. The club's home stadium is Al-Saher Ahmed Radhi Stadium. Founded in 1963, Al-Karkh was not successful in reaching the top-flight of Iraqi football until Al-Rasheed SC's properties and place in the top division were transferred to Al-Karkh when Al-Rasheed were dissolved in 1990. Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya ( ar, نادي القوة الجوية الرياضي, lit=Air Force Club) is an Iraqi sports club based in Rusafa District, Baghdad that competes in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Founded in 1931, it is the oldest existing club in Iraq.
