Ajax—Pickering was a provincial electoral district in central Ontario, Canada. It was first contested in the 2007 provincial election. 55.2% of the riding came from Pickering—Ajax—Uxbridge while 44.8% came from Whitby—Ajax. The riding included all of the Town of Ajax plus that part of the City of Pickering north of Finch Avenue and east of Brock Road, as well as the area north of Highway 401 and east of Valley Farm Road. 2007 Ontario General Election
The 2007 Ontario general election was held on October 10, 2007, to elect members ( MPPs) of the 39th Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, Canada. The Liberals under Premier Dalton McGuinty won the election with a majority government, winning 71 out of a possible 107 seats with 42.2% of the popular vote. The election saw the third-lowest voter turnout in Ontario provincial elections, setting a then record for the lowest voter turnout with 52.8% of people who were eligible voted. Finch Avenue is an arterial thoroughfare that travels east–west in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The road continues west into the Regional Municipality of Peel as Regional Road 2 and east into the Regional Municipality of Durham as Regional Road 37.
