Aino Kapewangolo
Aino Kapewangolo (born July 23, 1949, in Engela, Ohangwena Region) is a Namibian pastor and politician. Kapewangolo is a SWAPO Party member and pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN). She served as a member of Parliament in the National Assembly from 2015-2020. She also served as a Deputy Minister of Poverty Eradication and Social Welfare. Education and career Kapewangolo holds a Diploma in Theology from Paulinum Theological Seminary at Otjimbingwe, she enrolled from 1970 to 1973. In 1974–1980, Kapewangolo in her early religion career, worked as a leader of the ELCIN Women's League, and she was also a member of the Lutheran World Federation of Women in Church and Society from 1986–995. She further served as ELCIN Theologian from 1973 until 1991. Engela
Engela is an Ovambo settlement in the Ohangwena Region in northern Namibia. Formerly situated in the Oukwanyama area it is since 2004 part of the town Helao Nafidi, although it still maintained its own village council until the 2015 local authority election. It is one of the more important establishments of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) in the area. It started as a mission station of the Finnish Missionary Society. Today, it is the centre of the Engela Constituency. History of the mission station Finnish missionaries first made visits to Oukwanyama in a place called Omafo where the English Major Fairlie had built a small church in 1918. The Finns travelled to Omafo from Ondonga via Oshigambo, which meant a journey of some 60 kilometres, taking 12 hours with an ox cart, no counting stops along the way. Oshikoto Region
Oshikoto is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, named after Lake Otjikoto. Its capital is Omuthiya. The city of Tsumeb, Otjikoto's capital until 2008, and the towns of Omuthiya and Oniipa are also situated in this region. , Oshikoto had 112,170 registered voters. Ohangwena is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Eenhana. Otjimbingwe
Otjimbingwe (also: Otjimbingue) is a settlement in the Erongo Region of central Namibia. It has approximately 8,000 inhabitants. History The area was already a temporary settlement of some Herero in the early 18th century. Their chief Tjiponda coined the name ''Otjizingue'' ( hz, refreshing place, referring to the natural spring) from which the settlement's name developed. The Rhenish Mission Society used Otjimbingwe as a central location for their Namibian mission in 1849. Johannes Rath and his family settled in the area on 11 July that year. In 1854, copper was found in the nearby Khomas highlands and the Walwich Bay Mining Company established its offices in the city. Miners and merchants flocked to the settlement, and the researcher and businessman Karl Johan Andersson bought the entire settlement in 1860.
