Adriana Yamila Díaz González (born October 31, 2000) is a Puerto Rican table tennis player. she was ranked 3 (under age 21) and 11 in the Table Tennis World Ranking according to the International Table Tennis Federation. Díaz is sponsored by Butterfly and Adidas. Adriana is the sister of the table tennis player, Melanie Díaz, and cousin of Brian Afanador. International competition On April 1, 2016, Díaz made history becoming the first Puerto Rican female table tennis player to qualify for an Olympic Games. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics where she defeated Olufunke Oshonaike 4–2 in the preliminary round before losing to Li Xue 0–4 in the second round. Utuado () is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the central mountainous region of the island known as the '' Cordillera Central''. It is located north of Adjuntas and Ponce; south of Hatillo and Arecibo; east of Lares; and west of Ciales and Jayuya. 2023 Central American And Caribbean Games
The 24th Central American and Caribbean Games are scheduled to take place in 2023. They were planned to take place in Panama City, Panama, until the government announced on 24 July 2020 that it had decided to withdraw as the hosts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Panama. Centro Caribe Sports had search for alternatives. In May 2021 San Salvador, El Salvador was chosen to replace Panama City as main host city, as due to infrastructure and schedule issues 7 sports were relocated to Santo Domingo, in Dominican Republic. Olufunke Oshonaike
Olufunke Oshonaike, also known as Funke Oshonaike (born 28 April 1974) is a professional Nigeria table tennis player based in Hamburg, Germany. She competed for Nigeria at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Oshonaike started her playing career on a street called Akeju Street in Shomolu, Lagos, in the early 1980s while very young. She was a spectacle each time she played because she was very small and used to amaze people with her skill at that early age. On April 2, 2016, Afanador made history becoming the first Puerto Rican male table tennis player to qualify for the Olympic Games. Personal life Melanie Díaz was born on May 7, 1996, to Bladimir Díaz and Marangely González and is the eldest of four sisters who also are table tennis athletes, Fabiola, Gabriela and Adriana.
