Ramasimhan (born Ali Akbar; 20 February 1963) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and lyricist who works in Malayalam cinema. He directed more than 20 Malayalam movies, including ''Grama Panchayath'', ''Bamboo Boys'', '' Junior Mandrake'', '' Kudumba Vaarthakal'' and ''Pai Brothers''. In 2020, Ramasimhan announced a new movie to be produced through crowdfunding, titled ''1921: Puzha Muthal Puzha Vare'', based on the 1921 Malabar rebellion. Thilakan
Palappurathu Kesavan Surendranatha Thilakan (15 July 1935 – 24 September 2012) was an Indian film and stage actor who appeared in over 200 Malayalam films. Thilakan was known for his elaborate method acting, realistic and spontaneous appearances. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest Indian actors of all time. Early life Thilakan was the second of the six children of Palapurath T. S. Keshavan (1904–1972) and Devayani (1912–2010). Thilakan was born in Plankamon, Ayroor Panchayat in the present-day Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. He had his primary education from Asan Pallikoodam, Manikkal and St. Louis Catholic School, Nalamvayal and Sree Narayana College, Kollam.
