The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (A.M.M.A) is an Indian organisation of film actors and actresses working in Malayalam cinema, formed in 1994. Governing body The governing body serves for three years. It includes a President, two Vice-presidents, General Secretary, Joint Secretary Treasurer and other Executive Committee members. Only members with Life Membership status can become a member of the Governing body. Kochi

Women in Cinema Collective (abbreviated as WCC) is an organisation for women working in the Malayalam cinema industry. Formation The organisation was formed following harassment of a Mollywood actress. The organisation aims at the welfare of women in Malayalam cinema. On November 1, 2017, Women in Cinema Collective was registered as a society in Kerala. Dileep
Gopalakrishnan Padmanabhan Pillai, better known by his stage name Dileep, is an Indian actor, producer, and businessman who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He has acted in more than 150 films and has won several awards, including four Kerala State Film Awards and one Filmfare Awards South. Palappurathu Kesavan Surendranatha Thilakan (15 July 1935 – 24 September 2012) was an Indian film and stage actor who appeared in over 200 Malayalam films. Thilakan was known for his elaborate method acting, realistic and spontaneous appearances. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest Indian actors of all time. 2018 Kerala Floods
On 16 August 2018, severe floods affected the south Indian state Kerala, due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century. Over 483 people died, and 15 are missing. About a million people were evacuated, mainly from Chengannur, Pandanad, Edanad, Aranmula, Kozhencherry, Ayiroor, Ranni, Pandalam, Kuttanad, Malappuram, Aluva, Chalakudy, Thrissur, Thiruvalla, Eraviperoor, Vallamkulam, North Paravur, Chellanam, Vypin Island and Palakkad. All 14 districts of the state were placed on red alert. According to the Kerala government, one-sixth of the total population of Kerala had been directly affected by the floods and related incidents.
