Aarne Saluveer
Aarne Saluveer (born 28 July 1959 in Tartu) is an Estonian conductor and music pedagogue. He is primarily known by its activity with children's music and children's choirs. In 1982 he graduated from Tallinn State Conservatory in choral conducting and music pedagogue specialities. In 1990 he established Lasteekraan Music Studio at Estonian Television. Until 2004 he was the music director and chief conductor of this studio. He has also conducted Estonian TV Girls' Choir. His choirs have won awards at Estonian and international choral contests. Since 2006 he is the principal of Georg Ots Tallinn Music College. He is one of the founders of Estonian Society for Music Education. The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (''Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia'') began as a mixed choir of the Estonia Society Musical Department (EMD) on the eve of World War I. The assembly of the Estonia Society created the Tallinn Higher Music School on November 17, 1918. The opening ceremony took place on September 28, 1919. In 1923 the educational institution was renamed the Tallinn Conservatoire. In 1938 the State Drama School was opened. In 1993 the school was renamed the “Estonian Academy of Music”. Eesti Televisioon (ETV) ( en, Estonian Television) is an Estonian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by Estonian Public Broadcasting. It made its first broadcast on 19 July 1955. History Eesti Televisioon (''Estonian Television'') was launched on 19 July 1955. Before that, television broadcasts in Estonia could only be received from Moscow. The very first Estonian-language TV presenter was Ofelia Mikk, whose debut was in the 19 July 1955 test broadcast. Her tenure in television was cut short, because she misspoke out of nervousness.
