ASEAN University Games (AUG) is a biennial sports event that involves athletes from the universities of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN member countries. It is regulated by ASEAN University Sports Council (AUSC) which was established in 1980. Chiang Mai (, from th, เชียงใหม่ , nod, , เจียงใหม่ ), sometimes written as Chiengmai or Chiangmai, is the largest city in northern Thailand, the capital of Chiang Mai province and the second largest city in Thailand. 2022 ASEAN University Games
2022 ASEAN University Games officially the 20th ASEAN University Games and also known as Ubon Ratchathani 2022 is a regional multi-sport event held from 26 July to 6 August 2022 in Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. Originally planned to take place from 13 to 22 December 2020, it was eventually rescheduled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. 2018 ASEAN University Games
The 2018 ASEAN University Games, officially known as the 19th ASEAN University Games, was a Southeast Asian university multi-sports event which was held in Myanmar from 8 December 2018 to 19 December 2018. This was the first time Myanmar hosted the ASEAN University Games. Preparation and development The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Sports organized the 19th AUG Organization Committee, led by patron vice president Myint Swe, chairman Myo Thein Gyi, vice chairman Myint Htwe and other ten working committees. They selected the athletes from all of the universities and trained them. Venues The 19th ASEAN University Games has 13 venues for the games. The athlete's village is in Zabuthiri Township with two Cluster, Myitkyina Cluster and Monywa Cluster. Marketing Motto The official motto for the games is Youth and Friendship. The 2016 ASEAN University Games, officially known as the 18th ASEAN University Games, was a Southeast Asian university multi-sports event held in Singapore. This was the third time Singapore hosted the ASEAN University Games, and its first time since 1994. Previously, Singapore also hosted the 1986 games. The games was held from 10 to 19 July 2016, although several events had commenced from 9 July 2016. Around 1000 athletes from 11 participating nations participated at the games which featured 173 events in 15 sports. It was opened by Ong Ye Kung, the acting minister of education of Singapore at the Nanyang Technological University. The final medal tally was led by Thailand, with host Singapore in fifth place. The 2014 ASEAN University Games, officially known as the 17th ASEAN University Games, was a Southeast Asian university multi-sport event held in Palembang, Indonesia from 11 to 21 December 2014. It was the fourth time Indonesia hosted the games and its first time since 2004. Previously, Indonesia also hosted the 1982 games and the 1990 games. Around 1000 athletes from 11 participating nations participated at the games which featured 226 events in 18 sports. Palembang is the fourth Indonesian city to host the ASEAN University Games after Jakarta in 1982, Bandung in 1990 and Surabaya in 2004. The games was opened by Jusuf Kalla, the vice-president of Indonesia at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium. The final medal tally was led by host Indonesia, followed by Thailand and Malaysia. 2012 ASEAN University Games
The 2012 ASEAN University Games officially known as the 16th ASEAN University Games was a Southeast Asian university multi-sports event held in Vientiane, Laos. This was the first time Laos hosted the games. Laos is the eighth nation to host the ASEAN University Games after Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines and Vietnam. The games was held from 12 to 20 December 2012, although several events had commenced from 11 December 2012. Around 1700 athletes participated at the event which featured 240 events in 17 sports. It was opened and closed by Thongsing Thammavong, the Prime Minister of Laos at the New Laos National Stadium. The final medal tally was led by Malaysia, followed by Vietnam and Thailand with host Laos in fifth place. Bangi, Malaysia
Bangi ( Jawi: باڠي; ), alternately Bangi Lama, is a small town situated south of Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia. Geography It is roughly situated between the towns of Kajang () and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (). The town is surrounded by palm oil estates, most of which were converted to townships over the last 20 years. The town is surrounded by small Malay villages, within , namely, Kampung Bangi, Kampung Bahagia, Kampung Batu Lima, Kampung Rinching.
