2018 ASEAN University Games
The 2018 ASEAN University Games, officially known as the 19th ASEAN University Games, was a Southeast Asian university multi-sports event which was held in Myanmar from 8 December 2018 to 19 December 2018. This was the first time Myanmar hosted the ASEAN University Games. Preparation and development The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Sports organized the 19th AUG Organization Committee, led by patron vice president Myint Swe, chairman Myo Thein Gyi, vice chairman Myint Htwe and other ten working committees. They selected the athletes from all of the universities and trained them. Venues The 19th ASEAN University Games has 13 venues for the games. The athlete's village is in Zabuthiri Township with two Cluster, Myitkyina Cluster and Monywa Cluster. Marketing Motto The official motto for the games is Youth and Friendship. Naypyidaw
Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw (; ), is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the centre of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. It is unusual among Myanmar's cities, as it is an entirely planned city outside of any state or region. Sepaktakraw Pictogram
Sepak takraw, or Sepaktakraw, also called kick volleyball, is a team sport played with a ball made of rattan or synthetic plastic between two teams of two to four players on a court resembling a badminton court. It is similar to volleyball and footvolley in its use of a rattan ball and players using only their feet, knees, shoulders, chest and head to touch the ball. Sepak Takraw is often referred to as a mixture of volleyball, due to its use of a net, and association football, as players use their feet. The sport's modern version was introduced, developed and standardized in 1960 when officials from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar met in Kuala Lumpur to agree on a name and standard rules for it.
