AIDS Research Alliance
AIDS Research Alliance of America (ARAA) was a national community-based 501(c)(3) non-profit medical research institution that sought to develop a cure for HIV/AIDS, medical strategies to prevent new HIV infections and better treatments for people living with HIV/AIDS. From 1989 to 2015, ARAA conducted over 150 clinical and pre-clinical studies, ranging from alternative therapies that employed a complementary approach to HIV care to the first in-human HIV vaccine trial. AIDS Research Alliance was partly responsible for "fast-tracking" to market half of today's anti-HIV treatments. ''Macteens'' was an Apple Macintosh community website and online magazine targeted towards teenage users, featuring news, reviews, and forums, established in 1998. Following a period of dormancy, the website was revived in December 2001, by Chris Saribay and Andrew Wilkinson. It was under extensive redevelopment and recently has an almost all-new masthead of authors, editors and designers. It was under the management of Daniel Hollister when the site went down. MacHeist was a website that bundled and resold Mac OS X software. The site conducted marketing through challenges (or "heists") that allowed customers to win software licenses and/or discounts; and sold software in bundles that increased in size as more customers purchased the offer. The site was founded by John Casasanta, Phillip Ryu, and Scott Meinzer. After a final promotion in May 2016, the original incarnation went offline. As of November 2018, the website is a front-end for marketing by native advertising company StackCommerce. MacHeist MacHeist I was a six-week-long event that the site ran at the end of 2006.
