Azam Tariq (religious Leader)
Azam Tariq ( ur, اعظم طارق March 1962 – 6 October 2003) was the leader of the politico-religious organisation Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, a Deobandi organization, which was officially banned by the government of Pakistan in August 2001. On 26 June 2018, Pakistan lifted the ban. After his assassination in 2003, Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi was selected as the president of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan. Early life and education Tariq was born to a poor Arain farmer Mohammad Fateh in village, Chak No 111/7R, Chichawatni. The family is originally from Nakodar, Jalandhar. He studied at a local madrassa and then enrolled in the Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia in Banuri Town, Karachi. Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP, , Guardians of the Prophet's Companions), renamed to Millat-e-Islamia, is a Islamist organisation in Pakistan, which also functioned as a political party. It broke away from the main Deobandi Sunni organisation Jamiatul Ulema-e-Islam in 1985. Isar ul Haq Qasmi (who died in 1991) was a Pakistani Islamic cleric, preacher and a member of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan. He had been member of the National Assembly of Pakistan between 1990 and 1993 representing Jhang constituency. Born in 1964 to a family which migrated from Ambala and settled in Samundri, Punjab, at the Partition, with a father who worked in the Middle East for years (like many SSP members), he was educated in three madrasas in Lahore, and at first went for a business career but then decided to become khatib (preacher) in an Okara mosque from 1985 onward, where he also established a madrasa, and he would soon gain a reputation for his clashes with the local police, before moving to Jhang at the request of Haq Nawaz Jhangvi, to preach in one of the market-towns of the district. 2003 Quetta Mosque Bombing
On 4 July 2003, 53 Hazara Shias were killed and at least 65 others were injured when the mosque was attacked during the Friday prayer in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. When hundreds of worshipers were offering Friday prayer, three armed men entered the ''Asna Ashari Hazara Imambargah'' and started shooting, threw hand grenades and one suicide bomber blew himself up - which left 53 dead and tens of others injured.
