Ayelet Carmi
Ayelet Carmi, (Hebrew: אילת כרמי, born 21 July 1967) is an Israeli painter and installation artist. Biography Carmi was born in 1967 in Kibbutz Beit HaShita. She is a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Her works are characterized by feminine figures in mythological settings, organic hybrids and evocative machinery. Based in traditional painterly technique, her works offer a complex take on the representational style of the Western tradition while opening up to a world of imaginary figments and metamorphoses. Galia Bar Or, the director and curator of The Museum of Art in Ein Harod, considers Carmi as: “the inventor of a new genre of painting all her own. Hebrew
Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family. Historically, it is one of the spoken languages of the Israelites and their longest-surviving descendants, the Jews and Samaritans. Jerusalem Artists House is an Israeli art gallery and exhibition space in Jerusalem, Israel that housed the Bezalel Art School, established in 1906. The historic 19th century building, in Jerusalem's Rehavia neighborhood, was the home of Boris Schatz, who opened an art school and museum alongside his family residence. The building is now the headquarters of the Jerusalem Association of Painters and Sculptors. History Built by a wealthy Arab in the 1880s, with a crenelated stone wall mirroring the wall around Jerusalem's Old City, the building stood empty until 1907, when the complex was purchased by the Jewish National Fund for Boris Dov Schatz, who envisioned opening an art school there. The Ramat Gan Museum of Israeli Art is an art museum that displays Israeli art, located on Abba Hillel Street of Ramat Gan, Israel. The museum was opened on 4 April 1987. History The building was built in the 1930s with the initial purpose of serving as an industrial plant. Prior to the opening of the museum, the building was converted into a museum space by architect Danny Schwarz, in order to serve its new purpose. In 2012, the museum had 23,000 visitors. The Petah Tikva Museum of Art is an art museum in Arlozorov Street, Petah Tikva, Israel. History The museum is part of Petah Tikva's Museum Complex. Most of the art at the museum (roughly 3188 items) is art in memory and perpetuation of others, and were collected by Yad Labanim. The building originally opened in 1952, and was the first of its kind in Israel, and the museum itself opened in 1964. Between 1987 and 1993, the museum's director was Dalia Levin.
