Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah
Awang Bemee bin Awang Ali Basah (born 22 June 1959) is a Malaysian politician and lawyer who has served as the 21st President of the Dewan Negara and Senator since July 2024. He served as Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Nangka from September 1996 to April 2011. He is a member, Member of the Supreme Council, Legal Advisor and was Youth Secretary-General of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), a component party of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and formerly Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition. He is also the Public Officer of GPS. He has been the Chairman of Kuching Port Authority since 1997 and has practised as an advocate and solicitor and legal practitioner since being admitted to the High Court of Borneo, Sarawak in 1984. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. The People's Justice Party ( ms, Parti Keadilan Rakyat , often known simply as KEADILAN or PKR) is a reformist political party in Malaysia, formed in 2003 by a merger of the National Justice Party and the older Malaysian People's Party. Solicitor advocate is a hybrid status which allows a solicitor in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong to represent clients in higher courts in proceedings that were traditionally reserved for barristers. Sarawak State Legislative Assembly
The Sarawak State Legislative Assembly is the legislative chamber of the unicameral legislature of the Malaysian state of Sarawak; the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak forms the other part of the legislature. President Of The Dewan Negara
The President of the Senate ( ms, Yang di-Pertua Dewan Negara) is the presiding officer or speaker of the Dewan Negara, the upper house of the Parliament of Malaysia. The President of the Senate is created under Article 56 of the Constitution of Malaysia. The office is similar to the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat: the president is elected by the members of the Senate and is expected to be politically impartial. If a member of the Dewan Negara is elected as the president and is a member of a state legislative assembly, he must resign from the assembly before exercising the functions of the office.
