Awaking (duo)
Awaking was a Taiwanese pop music duo, formed by Jay Shih and Wesley Chia. They released their self-titled debut album in 2004, and the first single from the album, "Dream", became a modest hit in Taiwan. The song was subsequently covered by Vivian Hsu on her album ''The Secret to Happiness Is Love''. Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. Vivian Hsu ( Atayal: ; ; born March 19, 1975) is a Taiwanese singer and actress.
