Awakening Music (previously known as Awakening Records) is a British-based Islamic faith-inspired music production company. It was created in 2000 by four British and American entrepreneurs. Islamic music may refer to religious music, as performed in Islamic public services or private devotions, or more generally to musical traditions of the Muslim world. Humood Othman AlKhudher (Arabic: حمود عثمان الخضر; born 24 January 1989), commonly known as Humood Alkhudher, is a Kuwaiti singer and music producer. Humood released his compilation album ''Fekra'' in 2013. In 2014, he was signed to Awakening Records and in 2015 he launched his album ''Aseer Ahsan''. In February 2020, he announced his new album Matha Ba’d?. Early life and education Humood was born in Kuwait on 24 January 1989. Career Humood began his musical career in 1999 as a backing vocalist for his uncle who would regularly perform at local events. At age 13, he sang Ummi Filisteen, a duet with Mishari Al-Aradah on the suffering of Palestinians. Raef (singer)
Raef Haggag ( ar, رائف حجاج; born August 8, 1982) is an Egyptian-American singer. Beginnings Raef picked up playing guitar during his time at the University of Maryland, College Park where he studied computer science. After graduation, Raef worked briefly as a software engineer before leaving to teach high school for eight years. As he says: "I decided to switch careers from a software eng. to a high school teacher because I wanted to help others in a more direct way (and because it was pretty boring sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day)". Raef taught computer programming in Montgomery County Public Schools.
