Avraham Menchel
Avraham Menchel ( he, אברהם מנצ'ל)(born December 12, 1935) is a former Israeli footballer. He is best known for his years at Maccabi Haifa Maccabi Haifa ( he, מכבי חיפה) is one of the biggest sports clubs in Israel and a part of the Maccabi association. It runs several sports clubs and teams in Haifa which have competed in a variety of sports over the years, such as Football ... where he started his football career as well as his managerial career. Menchel is widely regarded as one of the best Haifa players to ever don the green shirt. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. The Israel national football team has represented Israel in international association football since 1934, when it played its first official game (as Mandatory Palestine or ''Eretz Israel''—"Land of Israel") against Egypt. The 1960 AFC Asian Cup was the 2nd edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
