Aviation Boulevard is a major north–south thoroughfare in western and the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California. Interstate 105 (I-105) is an east–west auxiliary Interstate Highway in the Greater Los Angeles urban area of Southern California. It runs from State Route 1 (SR 1) near El Segundo and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to I-605 in the City of Norwalk. It is commonly known as the Century Freeway after Century Boulevard which it parallels, and also officially known as the Glenn Anderson Freeway after the late congressman Glenn M. Anderson who advocated for its construction. Route description The California Streets and Highways Code defines Route 105 as "from Pershing Drive near El Segundo to Route 605", but Caltrans never constructed the segment from Sepulveda Boulevard to Pershing Drive. Aviation/LAX (LACMTA Station)
Aviation/LAX station is an elevated light rail station on the C Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located over Aviation Boulevard, after which the station is named, near its intersection with Imperial Highway and just south of Century Freeway in El Segundo, California. A free LAX Shuttle bus connects this station to Los Angeles International Airport; however, when the K Line fully opens in 2024, this shuttle will be replaced by the LAX Automated People Mover which will connect with LAX/Metro Transit Center station, and the current Aviation/LAX station will then be renamed Aviation/Imperial station. The original name was Aviation Blvd/I-105 station, but was later simplified and its location close to LAX clarified, with a change to Aviation/LAX. C Line (Los Angeles Metro)
The C Line (formerly the Green Line from 1995 to 2020) is a light rail line running between Redondo Beach and Norwalk within Los Angeles County. It is one of seven lines forming the Los Angeles Metro Rail system, and opened on August 12, 1995. Metro Rapid
Metro Rapid is a local express bus service with bus rapid transit (BRT) characteristics in Los Angeles County, California. At its peak, Metro had dozens of Rapid routes, but , the system has been largely discontinued. Just three Metro operated Rapid routes remain, along with four routes operated by Big Blue Bus, one by Culver CityBus and one by Torrance Transit. To reduce travel times, buses are equipped with a special transmitter that send a signal to traffic lights, which cause them to favor the bus by holding green lights longer and shortening red lights. Metro Rapid buses also stop less frequently than other routes, with Rapid stops located only at major intersections and transfer points.
