''Aval'' ( en, She) is a 1967 Malayalam film directed by P. M. A. Azeez with Madhu, K. P. Ummer, Adoor Bhasi, Kaduvakulam Antony, Kedamangalam Ali, Krishnankutty, Maya, Meenakumari, Kozhikode Santha Devi and Ushanandini in the star cast. The film is about sexual impotence, divorce and a social system riddled with incestuous relationships. It was the first Malayalam film to be directed by a Film Institute graduate. Thoppil Bhaskara Pillai, known as Thoppil Bhasi (8 April 1924 – 8 December 1992) was an Indian Malayalam-language playwright, screenwriter, and film director. He was associated with the communist movement in Kerala and his play '' Ningalenne Communistakki'' (''You Made Me a Communist'') is considered to be a groundbreaking event in the history of Malayalam theatre. Zero Babu (28 December 1939 – 21 October 2020), also known as Mohammed Babu, was an Indian film singer, actor and music composer who was active in Malayalam cinema during the 1980s. He was a theater artist turned movie actor. His debut film song was for ''Kudumbini'' in 1964 at the age of 18. In P. J. Antony’s play, K. J. Babu played the role of a man who is fed up with life owing to the cotton gambling game that prevailed in the past. ''Open Zero'' was the name of the game. Vayalar Ramavarma (March 25, 1928 – October 27, 1975), also known as Vayalar, was an Indian poet and lyricist of Malayalam language. He was known for his poems which include ''Sargasangeetham'', ''Mulankaadu'', ''Padamudrakal'', ''Aayisha'' and ''Oru Judas janikkunnu'' and for around 1300 songs he penned for 256 Malayalam films.
