Autovía A-80
The Autovía A-80, also known as Autovía del Suroccidente (''Southwestern highway''), is a proposed highway in Asturias, Spain. A-80 was initially proposed by Francisco Álvarez-Cascos, Minister of Public Works and Transport during the government of José María Aznar, as a connection of the coastal resort of Ribadesella and the Autovía A-8 with Cangas de Onís, but was discarded when José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero became Prime Minister. Zapatero changed totally the project to a highway that will connect the A-63 at La Espina with Cangas del Narcea Cangas del Narcea is the oldest municipality in the Principality of Asturias in Spain. Autovía A-63
The Autovía A-63 is a highway in Principado de Asturias, Asturias, Spain. Once completed, it will connect the provincial capital, Oviedo, with La Espina; currently it only connects Oviedo and Cornellana, with half of the carriageway built from Salas, Asturias, Salas to La Espina. It follows the N-634 (Road), N-634. The possibility of adding a section to Canero, which would connect the road to the Autovía A-8, A-8, is currently being studied. Francisco Álvarez-Cascos
Francisco Álvarez–Cascos Fernández (born 1 October 1947) is a Spanish politician. He was Secretary-General of the ruling Partido Popular from 1989 to 1999 and the President of the Principality of Asturias from 2011 to 2012. He studied civil engineering, and after working in an architect office and then for an architects association for a few years, he soon became a professional politician. In 1976 he joined Reforma Democrática, which later merged into Alianza Popular, both right-wing parties. He was the spokesman for the Gijón Council between 1979 and 1986, a county councilor and a member of the regional Pre-Autonomous Body. In 1982, after Alianza Popular merged into the center-right People's Party, he was elected senator for Asturias, a position which he combined with that of spokesman for the People's Party Parliamentary Group in the General Junta of the Principate of Asturias (Asturias' regional legislature) from 1983 onwards. José María Aznar
José María Alfredo Aznar López (; born 25 February 1953) is a Spanish politician who was the prime minister of Spain from 1996 to 2004. He led the People's Party (PP), the dominant centre-right political party in Spain. A member of the Frente de Estudiantes Sindicalistas, a dissident Falangist student organisation, in his youth, he studied law at the Complutense University of Madrid and first worked in the public sector as an Inspector of the Finances of the State ( es, Inspector de las Finanzas del Estado). Ribadesella (Asturian: Ribeseya) is a small municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. Autovía A-8
The Autovía A-8 is a highway (autovía) that connects all the regions on the Northern Coast of Spain. It is known as the Autovía del Cantábrico (also known as "Transcantábrica") and connects Baamonde ( Begonte, Galicia) and Bilbao, where it continues as the Autopista AP-8 to the French border. The road passes Ribadeo, Avilés, Gijón, Santander and Bilbao. Bilbao area Currently the A-8 is also the main beltway of the Greater Bilbao conurbation, which has about a million inhabitants in the metropolitan area.
