The Austrian Film Award (german: Österreichischer Filmpreis), is the annual national film award of Austria, first given out in 2011. It is voted on by members of the Austrian Film Academy (german: Österreichische Filmakademie), which was founded in 2009 and consists of distinguished professionals from the Austrian film industry. The trophy was designed by media artist Valie Export. Valerie Pachner
Valerie Pachner (born 26 June 1987) is an Austrian actress. Life and work Valerie Pachner grew up in Bad Schallerbach, Austria, and studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 2009 to 2013. She was then part of the ensemble cast at the Residenztheater in Munich, under artistic director Martin Kušej until 2017. Her work on stage was awarded twice in 2016. Pachner starred as the female lead in the 2015 film '' Bad Luck'' (directed by Thomas Woschitz), which was nominated for the Max-Ophüls-Preis. Karl Markovics
Karl Markovics is an Austrian actor and film director. He was born in Vienna, Austria. Biography Markovics' mother worked as a clerk and his father was a bus driver. Markovics did not want to go into a professional career but wanted to become a stage actor, which his parents supported. However, he failed to pass the entry exam for the Max-Reinhardt-Seminar. He did not let this deter him from his dream and began performing at the Serapions Theater in Vienna. In 1987, he started working with the Wiener Ensemble. In 1991, he got his first part in the movie, "Hund und Katz" and in 1993, he played the part of the innkeeper in Paul Harather's tragic-comedy road movie " Indien". The German Film Award (), also known as Lola after its prize statuette, is the national film award of Germany. It is presented at an annual ceremony honouring cinematic achievements in the German film industry. Besides being the most important film award in Germany, it is also the most highly endowed German cultural award, with cash prizes in its current 20 categories totalling nearly three million euros. Christiane Hörbiger (13 October 1938 – 30 November 2022) was an Austrian stage, film, and television actress. Her first major film role was Mary Vetsera in '' Kronprinz Rudolfs letzte Liebe'' in 1955.
