The flag of Australia, also known as the Australian Blue Ensign, is based on the British Blue Ensign—a blue field with the Union Jack in the upper hoist quarter—augmented with a large white seven-pointed star (the Commonwealth Star) and a representation of the Southern Cross constellation, made up of five white stars (one small five-pointed star and four, larger, seven-pointed stars). 1998 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 1998 MTN Under-19 World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament played in South Africa from 11 January to 1 February 1998. Sponsored by the MTN Group, it was the second edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, coming ten years after the inaugural tournament in 1988, and the first to be held in South Africa. Sixteen teams participated at the 1998 World Cup, up from only eight at the previous edition. After an initial group stage, the top eight teams played off in a super league to decide the tournament champions, with the non-qualifiers playing a separate "plate" competition. The tournament was won by England, which defeated New Zealand in the final to win its first and only title. New Zealand have failed to reach the final since then, whilst England have qualified for the final in 2022 but lost to India. Teague Wyllie
Teague Wyllie (born 24 April 2004) is an Australian cricketer who plays for Western Australia and has also played for the Australia under-19 cricket team. In early December 2021, Wyllie was named in Australia's training squad of 37 players for the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Later the same month, Wyllie was selected in Australia's final squad of fifteen players for the U19 Cricket World Cup. Wyllie played in all six of Australia's matches, finishing the tournament as the team's leading run-scorer, with 278 runs. In Australia's first group match, against the West Indies, Wyllie top-scored in the match with an unbeaten 86 runs. Nivethan Radhakrishnan (born 25 November 2002) is an Indian-born Australian cricketer. He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and possesses the ability to bowl right-arm off spin and left-arm spin. Personal life Radhakrishnan was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He moved to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in 2013 at the age of 10, with his father, mother and older brother. He has cited West Indies all-rounder Sir Garfield Sobers as his idol. The 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament that was held in New Zealand from 13 January to 3 February 2018. It was the twelfth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the third to be held in New Zealand (after the 2002 and 2010 events). New Zealand was the first country to host the event three times. The opening ceremony took place on 7 January 2018. The West Indies were the defending champions. However, they failed to defend their title, after losing their first two group fixtures. The 2016 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament held in Bangladesh from 22 January to 14 February 2016. It was the eleventh edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the second to be held in Bangladesh, after the 2004 event. The World Cup was contested by the national under-19 teams of sixteen International Cricket Council (ICC) members, and all matches played were held under-19 One Day International (ODI) status. Ten teams qualified automatically for the tournament through their status as ICC full members, while five others qualified by winning regional qualifying events. The 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was a one-day cricket competition for sixteen international U-19 cricketing teams which was played in the United Arab Emirates. This was the tenth edition of the tournament. The 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was a one-day cricket competition for sixteen international U-19 cricketing teams which was held in August 2012. This was the ninth time that the tournament was held since its inception back in 1988. The tournament was held in Australia for the second time after previously hosting it in 1988 with the tournament being held across three cities (Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Townsville). Six teams qualified from the qualifying event as they joined the full members that automatically qualified through to the World Cup. The teams were separated into four groups of four with the top two teams qualifying through to the Super League while the bottom two will compete in the Plate Championship.
