Cave
Caves or caverns are natural voids under the Earth's Planetary surface, surface. Caves often form by the weathering of rock and often extend deep underground. Exogene caves are smaller openings that extend a relatively short distance underground (such as rock shelters). Caves which extend further underground than the opening is wide are called endogene caves. Speleology is the science of exploration and study of all aspects of caves and the cave environment. Visiting or exploring caves for recreation may be called Caving, ''caving'', ''potholing'', or ''spelunking''. Formation types The formation and development of caves is known as ''speleogenesis''; it can occur over the course of millions of years. Caves can range widely in size, and are formed by various geological processes. These may involve a combination of chemical processes, erosion by water, tectonic forces, microorganisms, pressure, and atmospheric influences. Isotopic dating techniques can be applied to cave sedime ...

Western Australian Speleological Group
The Western Australian Speleological Group (WASG) is a speleological group based in Nedlands, Western Australia. It was created in 1958 to promote speleology, scientific investigation, and the fostering and preservation of caves in Western Australia. As Western Australia's largest caving group, WASG continually arranges caving expeditions to undertake cave surveys, implement rehabilitation measures, and work to enable better access to caves. Earlier speleology in Western Australia had been done by the Western Australian Museum. Some published material identifies their parent organisation, the Australian Speleological Federation, rather than WASG, in their appraisals. Formation In the early 1950's, several members of the Western Australian Naturalists Club, formed a group called the Western Australian Caving Group. Cave Diving
Cave-diving is underwater diving in water-filled caves. It may be done as an extreme sport, a way of exploring flooded caves for scientific investigation, or for the underwater search and recovery, search for and recovery of divers or, as in the Tham Luang cave rescue, 2018 Thai cave rescue, other cave users. The equipment used varies depending on the circumstances, and ranges from Free-diving, breath hold to Surface-supplied diving, surface supplied, but almost all cave-diving is done using scuba equipment, often in specialised configurations with engineering redundancy, redundancies such as Sidemount diving, sidemount or backmounted twinset. Recreational cave-diving is generally considered to be a type of technical diving due to the lack of a free surface during large parts of the dive, and often involves planned Decompression (diving), decompression stops. A distinction is made by recreational diver training agencies between cave-diving and cavern-diving, where cavern diving i ...
