Australian Formula 1000
The CAMS WA Aus F1000 Championship is an Australian state motor racing title for drivers of Formula 1000 racing cars. Starting in 2014, it is a state series. The series gained CAMS approval in 2014 and is based in Western Australia. History The Formula 1000 category was established in North America in 2006 and within years had become popular across the United States and Europe. In 2013 Formula 1000 emerged in Australia in demonstration events before being approved to race by CAMS. A state series was contested in Australia for the first time in 2014 and will be an annual competition. The series serves as a stepping stone for Australian racing drivers who aim to go on to greater things in motor racing both in Australia and overseas. Leanne Tander
Leanne Ferrier (sometimes known as Leanne Tander, born 5 June 1980 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian race car driver having raced cars such as Formula Ford, Formula 3 and in the Supercars Championship. Career Ferrier started in karts in 1993, and progressed to Formula Ford in 1998. After mixed success there, she moved up into V8 Supercar in 2001 with Garry Rogers Motorsport and 2002 with Fleetcare Racing. The next three seasons saw her race her father Mark's Mazda RX-7 in Improved Production racing, winning the Victorian and New South Wales championships in 2005, as well as driving in the Australian Production Car Championship in 2004 for Team Toyota Australia. Stohr Cars designs and builds racing cars mainly for competition within the Sports Car Club of America. The business was founded by Lee Stohr in 1991 and is based in Denver, NC, USA. 138 racing cars have been produced as of December 2021. Stohr Cars was purchased by Dauntless Racing in 2014. The Australian Prototype Series is an Australian motor racing series for competitors smaller-engined (under 3.0 litres of engine capacity) prototype sports cars. Originally known as ''Sports Racer Series'', eligibility is something of a polyglot collection of existing racing cars and racing categories, featuring Group 2C Supersport racing cars, which in itself is an amalgamation of the former Clubman Sports 1300 regulations with some newer motorcycle engined cars built specifically for Supersports, and a group of Category 6 sports cars produced by West, Minetti, Radical, Lincspeed and ADR, many of which formerly raced as Prototype Sports Cars, or Protosports. Australian Formula 3 Championship
Australian Formula 3 has been the name applied to two distinctly different motor racing categories, separated by over twenty years. The original Australian Formula 3 was introduced in 1964 based on the FIA Formula 3 of the period and intended as a cost-efficient open wheel category to run at state level for amateur racers. It was discontinued at the end of 1977. Formula 3 was reintroduced to Australia in 1999, again based on FIA Formula 3. An Australian Formula 3 Championship was sanctioned by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport for the first time in 2001.
