Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora has released three studio albums, one compilation album, one soundtrack album, eight extended plays (including five compilation EPs), 40 singles (including eleven as a featured artist), ten promotional singles and 27 music videos. Aurora released her debut extended play (EP), ''Running with the Wolves'' in May 2015 through Decca Records. A song from the EP, " Runaway", became a sleeper hit in 2021 charting in numerous single charts internationally, including the US ''Billboard'' Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles. Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song " Half the World Away", which reached number 11 in the UK. In March 2016, Aurora released her debut studio album ''All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend'', which included previous singles "Runaway", "Running with the Wolves" and "Half the World Away". Aurora (singer)
Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996), known mononymously as Aurora (stylized in all caps), is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six. After some of her songs were uploaded online and became popular in Norway, she signed a recording contract with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records in 2014. Aurora gained recognition with her debut extended play (EP), ''Running with the Wolves'' (2015), which contained the sleeper hit " Runaway". Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song " Half the World Away". Conqueror (Aurora Song)
"Conqueror" is the eighth single released by Aurora and the fifth single from ''All My Demons Greeting Me as a Friend''. It was written by Aurora, Geir Luedy, Odd Martin Skålnes and Magnus Skylstad and produced by Skålnes, Skylstad and Jeremy Wheatley. On January 15, 2016 the song was officially released worldwide. Background and composition "Conqueror" is a Scandipop, synth-pop, and electropop song with "clattering drum beats building towards a euphoric chorus". Aurora wrote this song in 2013 with some of her band members. She said: "This song is a rather strange one. It's an important contrast to all the other songs on my album - it's actually a bit happy! The GfK Entertainment charts are the official music charts in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International), a subsidiary of GfK, on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. GfK Entertainment is the provider of weekly Top 100 single and album charts, as well as various other chart formats for genres like compilations, jazz, classical music, schlager, hip hop, dance, comedy, and music videos. Following a lawsuit in March 2014 by Media Control AG, Media Control® GfK International had to change its name. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Ö3 Austria Top 40 is the official Austrian singles chart, as well as the radio show which presents it, aired Tuesdays on Hitradio Ö3. The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) is a trade association representing the Australian recording industry which was established in the 1970s by six major record companies, EMI, Festival, CBS, RCA, WEA and Universal replacing the Association of Australian Record Manufacturers (AARM) which was formed in 1956.
