''Aunty Jack Sings Wollongong'' is an Australian album released in November 1974 as a spin-off from the cult ABC Television show ''Aunty Jack''. It contains a mixture of songs and sketches and, along with the single "Farewell Aunty Jack", is the only audio release from the ''Aunty Jack'' crew. Track listing The album follows the format of the ''Aunty Jack'' show - sketches with the main characters Aunty Jack, Thin Arthur, Kid Eager and Flange Desire (although Flange is almost completely absent from the album sketches) interspersed with sketches with other characters. Aunty Jack's ''Wollongong the Brave'' is a collection of four comedy specials derived from the Australian television series, ''The Aunty Jack Show''. ''Aunty Jack Introduces Colour'' is a one-off television special edition of ''The Aunty Jack Show'', broadcast on ABC television on the night of 28 February 1975. It was created two years after ''The Aunty Jack Show'' finished, and featured the main character, Aunty Jack, played by Grahame Bond, even though she had been killed off in the last season in 1973. The episode was five minutes long and was the first show on ABC television to be broadcast in colour. ''The Aunty Jack Show'' was a Logie Award-winning Australian television comedy series that ran from 1972 to 1973. Produced by and broadcast on ABC-TV, the series attained an instant cult status that persists to the present day. The lead character, Aunty Jack was a unique comic creation — obese, moustachioed and gravel-voiced, part trucker and part pantomime dame — who habitually solved any problem by knocking people unconscious or threatening to "rip yer bloody arms off". Visually, she was unmistakable, dressed in a huge, tent-like blue velvet dress, football socks, workboots, and a golden boxing glove on her right hand. Kim Ryrie
Kim Ryrie is an Australian synthesiser inventor who founded the audio technology company Fairlight with Peter Vogel. Career Kim Ryrie was the son of magazine publisher, Colin Ryrie, of Modern Magazines Pty Ltd. Based in Sydney, Ryrie launched the magazine ''Electronics Today International'' in 1970 where readers would build the ETI 4600 analogue synthesiser by adding to it with pieces in each issue month by month. In 1975 he discussed the limitations of analogue synthesisers with his schoolfriend, electronics designer, Peter Vogel and they invented the Fairlight CMI (Computer Musical Instrument). Launched in 1979, the CMI synthesiser became popular in the 1980s with musicians like Stevie Wonder, and the two founders received a CSIRO medal for their innovation. The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts.
