Auf Wiedersehen Monty
''Auf Wiedersehen Monty'' (German for "Goodbye Monty") is a computer game for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, MSX and Commodore 16. Released in 1987, it is the fourth game in the ''Monty Mole'' series. It was written by Peter Harrap and Shaun Hollingworth with music by Rob Hubbard and Ben Daglish. Gameplay The player controls Monty as he travels around Europe collecting money in order to buy a Greek island - Montos, where he can safely retire. Gameplay is in the style of a flick-screen platform game, similar to many such games of the 1980s such as ''Technician Ted'' and ''Jet Set Willy''. Some screens (such as those representing the Eiffel Tower and the Pyrenees) bear some relation to their real-life counterparts but most are just typical platform game screens. Gremlin Graphics
Gremlin Graphics Software Limited, later Gremlin Interactive Limited and ultimately Infogrames Studios Limited was a British software house based in Sheffield, working mostly in the home computer market. Like many software houses established in the 1980s, their primary market was the 8-bit range of computers such as the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Commodore 16 and Commodore 64. The company was acquired by French video game publisher Infogrames in 1999, and was renamed Infogrames Studios in 2000. Infogrames Studios closed down in 2003. History The company, originally a computer store called Just Micro, was established as a software house in 1984 with the name Gremlin Graphics Software Ltd by Ian Stewart and Kevin Norburn with US Gold's Geoff Brown owning 75% of the company until mid-1989. Impossamole
''Impossamole'' is a platform game developed by Core Design for the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC and ZX Spectrum. It was released in 1990 and published by Gremlin Graphics. NEC Technologies published it on TurboGrafx-16 the following year. It is the sixth and final game in the ''Monty Mole'' series. Gameplay 250px This game is similar to ''Rick Dangerous 2'', another Core Design game. It features the cape-clad superhero Monty Mole who is recruited by aliens to retrieve their sacred scrolls. As in ''Rick Dangerous 2'', the first four levels may be played in any order. Completing these four levels (the Orient, Klondike mines, Ice and Amazon forest) unlocks the fifth and final level. ''Moley Christmas'' is a video game released in 1987 for the Sinclair Spectrum. It is the fifth game in the ''Monty Mole'' series and a sequel to the 1987 video game ''Auf Wiedersehen Monty''. It was available exclusively on the cover of ''Your Sinclair'' magazine. Story Released as a covertape with ''Your Sinclair'' magazine. Monty is tasked with recovering the source code to his latest game and getting it to the duplication plant. Gameplay ''Moley Christmas'' featured similar gameplay to the previous game in the series, ''Auf Wiedersehen Monty''. The player must guide Monty around various screens, jumping, climbing, dodging enemies, and collecting items. ''Your Sinclair'', or ''YS'' as it was commonly abbreviated, was a commercially published and printed British computer magazine for the Sinclair range of computers, mainly the ZX Spectrum. It was in circulation between 1984 and 1993. History The magazine was launched in January 1984 as ''Your Spectrum'' by Sportscene Specialist Press. ''Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'' () is a British comedy-drama television programme about seven British construction workers who leave the United Kingdom to search for employment overseas. In the first series, the men live and work on a building site in Düsseldorf. Radio Luxembourg (English)
Radio Luxembourg was a multilingual commercial broadcaster in Luxembourg. It is known in most non-English languages as RTL (for Radio Television Luxembourg). The English-language service of Radio Luxembourg began in 1933 as one of the earliest commercial radio stations broadcasting to the UK and Ireland. The station provided a way to circumvent British legislation which until 1973 gave the BBC a monopoly of radio broadcasting on UK territory and prohibited all forms of advertising over the domestic radio spectrum. It boasted the most powerful privately owned transmitter in Europe (200 kW, broadcasting on medium wave).
