Audio (musician)
Gareth Greenall, better known by his stage name Audio, is a British DJ and producer from Redhill, UK. Currently signed to RAM Records and his own label Snake Pit Records, he has released three albums on Virus Recordings. Greenall is also part of the record production group Pixel Fist. Biography Attending the "Dance Kiss FM" events in London as a teenager, Audio became familiar with the jungle and Drum and bass scene and soon booked his own party with DJs Ed Rush & Optical. He was hired as studio engineer at the UK hard house label "Alphamagic" and later became an A&R. In 2002, he founded "Resonant Evil" along with Colin Worth and Jason Bull, for which he released several records until 2005. His debut album ''To the Edge Of Reason'', released in 2008 on Tech Freak Recordings, received praises throughout the scene and also caught the attention of Virus Recordings executives Ed Rush & Optical (DJ) where he subsequently was signed to. Redhill, Surrey
Redhill () is a town in the borough of Reigate and Banstead within the county of Surrey, England. The town, which adjoins the town of Reigate to the west, is due south of Croydon in Greater London, and is part of the London commuter belt. The town is also the post town, entertainment and commercial area of three adjoining communities : Merstham, Earlswood and Whitebushes, as well as of two small rural villages to the east in the Tandridge District, Bletchingley and Nutfield. UK Hard House
UK hard house or simply hard house is a style of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 1990s and is synonymous with its association to the Trade club and the associated DJs there that created the style. It often features a speedy tempo (around 150 BPM but hard house ranges from around 135 BPM to around 165 BPM), offbeat bass stabs, hoovers and horns. It usually contains a break in the middle of the track where no drums are present. UK hard house often uses a long and sharp string note to create suspense. Most of the time, the drops are introduced by a drum roll. Origins Hard house has its immediate roots primarily in Belgian and German techno, American disco-sample based house music, handbag house and early trance. Cause 4 Concern
Cause 4 Concern, seen stylized as ''Cause4Concern'' as well as ''C4C'', is a drum and bass recording and production group originally based in Guildford, Surrey, England. Founded in 1999, the group started their own record label, Cause4Concern Recordings, for releasing their own material in addition to recordings from similar artists within the field of drum and bass. Their debut album, ''Pandemic'', was released on 26 August 2009. The CD release included a bonus dj-mix containing many of their previously released singles up to that date. Following the death of former member Edward Holmes (Optiv) in January 2020, the group is now recognized as a solo venture by Mark Clements (CZA), maintained in honor of his former production partner. Ed Rush
Ed Rush is the stage name used by the drum and bass producer and DJ, Ben Settle (born 1973). Rush has been releasing records since 1992 and primarily with his musical partner Optical (Matt Quinn), since 1997. Along with Optical he is also the co-founder of the record label Virus Recordings which releases his records along with other drum and bass acts. He is most associated with the aggressive styles of drum and bass music known as techstep, darkcore and neurofunk. Early career Rush's first releases were a pair of self-released white label 12" singles, the Prince Jammy-sampling "I Wanna Stay in the Jungle" and "Look What They've Done" in late 1992. In early 1993, Rush begun playing on the London pirate radio station Don FM, where he was to first meet future production partner DJ Trace, resulting in the duo releasing the track "Don Bad Man", produced by engineer Nico Sykes.
