Attorney General Of Uganda
The Attorney General of Uganda is the principal legal adviser to the government of Uganda. The office of the attorney general, is a cabinet-level government position in the country. The incumbent, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, was appointed on 8 June 2021. Overview In the past, the office of the attorney general was combined with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs (Uganda), with one cabinet minister serving both functions. Joseph Ekemu
Joseph Kalias Ekemu (September 5, 1944) is a retired Attorney General of Uganda, lawmaker and statesman. He served as Justice Minister of Uganda from 1994 to 1996. Ekemu once was a member representing Kaberamaido District and as a committee in the NRC. Ralph Hone
Major General Sir Herbert Ralph Hone (3 May 1896 – 28 November 1992) was a British Army officer, barrister and colonial administrator. Life up to World War II Ralph Hone was born in Hove, Sussex, and was educated at Varndean Grammar School, Brighton. Hone's mother died while he was in his teens; his father, "a man of character", went on to become mayor of Brighton in 1937. His family, the Hones, were distant relations to Nathaniel Hone the Elder of the famous painting, writing, cricket and diplomatic dynasty the Hones. However, Ralph's upbringing was far removed from that of his forebears. In April 1915 Hone passed the British civil service examination. Godfrey Binaisa
Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa QC (30 May 1920 – 5 August 2010) was a Ugandan lawyer who was Attorney General of Uganda from 1962 to 1968 and later served as the fifth president of Uganda from June 1979 to May 1980. At his death he was Uganda's only surviving former president. Education and early career Born in Kampala, Binaisa was initially a lawyer. He was educated at King's College Budo and Makerere College. He then earned an LL.B. in law from King's College London in 1955 and was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1956. He was appointed a Queen's counsel (QC) and had a private law practice in Kampala. Binaisa was a member of the political parties Uganda National Congress and United Congress Party during the 1950s. Peter James Nkambo Mugerwa (10 January 1933 – 10 November 2020) was a prominent Ugandan lawyer. He served as Uganda's Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs under President Idi Amin from 1971 to 1973. Early life Peter James Nkambo Mugerwa was born in Kampala, Uganda on the 10th of January, 1933. He is of the Buganda ethnicity. Education Nkambo Mugerwa attended King's College Budo for secondary school, and then went to Makerere University, where he got his undergraduate degree. He went to Trinity College at the University of Cambridge, and was called to the Bar in 1955 at Gray's Inn. Sam Kutesa
Sam Kahamba Kutesa (born 1 February 1949) is a Ugandan politician, businessman and lawyer involved in several corruption cases. By the marriage of his daughter Charlotte Kutesa Muhoozi with Muhoozi he is part of the inner circle of president Museveni. Kutesa was the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Cabinet of Uganda, a position he held from 13 January 2005 and maintained through three cabinet reshuffles until May 2021. He was also the elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Mawogola County in Sembabule District. He was the President of the United Nations General Assembly during its 69th session in 2014–2015.
