Atlanta United 2 are the reserve team of the Major League Soccer club Atlanta United FC. The team plays in the USL Championship, the second tier of American soccer. The team was established on November 14, 2017 and began their first professional season in March 2018. History In November 2017, the USL, a Division II sanctioned league by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), announced that Major League Soccer's Atlanta United had acquired a USL affiliate team and would begin play in the 2018 season. On January 9, 2018, the team name was revealed as Atlanta United 2. MLS Next Pro MLS announced that it would be one of the next eight teams to join MLS Next Pro on 2023. Atlanta United FC, commonly known as Atlanta United, is an American professional soccer club based in Atlanta that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the league's Eastern Conference. Founded in 2014, Atlanta United began play as an MLS expansion team in 2017, as the twenty-second team in the league. Fifth Third Bank Stadium, known as Kennesaw State University Stadium until 2013, is a stadium near Kennesaw, Georgia, that is primarily used as the home for the Kennesaw State Owls football team as well as the KSU women's soccer and women's lacrosse teams. It was built as a soccer-specific stadium and opened May 2, 2010, with the first match played on May 9. Amadou Macky Diop (born 17 August 1995) is a Senegalese footballer. Career Diambars Diop began his career with Senegalese side Diambars, joining their academy aged 13-years old. During his time with Diambars, Diop spent a season on loan with Dinamo Zagreb. Radford University Diop moved to the United States to play college soccer at Radford University, where he scored 13 goals and tallied 5 assists in 16 appearances. Stephen Glass (footballer)
Stephen Glass (born 23 May 1976) is a Scottish former professional footballer who is currently the manager of Memphis 901 in the USL Championship. A midfielder, Glass started his career at Aberdeen, with whom he won the 1995 Scottish League Cup. In 1998, he moved to England, transferring to Newcastle United of the Premier League. Shortly after joining Newcastle, Glass made an appearance for the Scotland national football team. He joined Watford in the First Division in 2001, before returning to Scotland in 2003 with Hibernian. He joined Dunfermline Athletic in 2007 and was released at the end of the 2009–10 season.
