2019 Atlanta United 2 Season
The 2019 Atlanta United 2 season is the team's second year of existence, their second season in the USL which is now rebranded as the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid. This is the first season they will play their home matches at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia. Players ''As of September 20, 2019.'' The squad of Atlanta United 2 will be composed of an unrestricted number of first-team players on loan to the reserve team, players signed to ATLUTD2, and Atlanta United Academy players. Academy players who appear in matches with ATLUTD2 will retain their college eligibility. Atlanta United 2
Atlanta United 2 are the reserve team of the Major League Soccer club Atlanta United FC. The team plays in the USL Championship, the second tier of American soccer. The team was established on November 14, 2017 and began their first professional season in March 2018. History In November 2017, the USL, a Division II sanctioned league by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), announced that Major League Soccer's Atlanta United had acquired a USL affiliate team and would begin play in the 2018 season. On January 9, 2018, the team name was revealed as Atlanta United 2. MLS Next Pro MLS announced that it would be one of the next eight teams to join MLS Next Pro on 2023. Stadium The team played their inaugural season at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with a capacity of 7,362 for soccer games. Luiz Fernando Nascimento (born 23 June 1997) is a Brazilian footballer who currently plays for Memphis 901 in the USL Championship. Youth Luiz Fernando played for the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista youth academy and played for their U-20 team. He also played briefly for Flamengo. Professional Luiz Fernando signed with the Richmond Kickers on 23 February 2016. San Francisco Glens
San Francisco Glens Soccer Club, commonly known as SF Glens, is an American soccer club based in San Francisco that was founded in 1961. Their men's first team currently competes in USL League Two and women's first team in the USL W League, both in the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. Before establishing a USL League Two franchise in 2018, the Glens had been a longtime member of the San Francisco Soccer Football League (SFSFL) and were once affiliated with the San Francisco Seals' PDL team, which is now defunct. The Glens continue to field three SFSFL teams, but the USL League Two franchise is now the club's official first team. Amir Bashti (born March 21, 1997) is an American soccer player who last played for USL Championship club Atlanta United 2. Early life Bashti was born and raised in San Jose, California. He attended Monta Vista High School in Cupertino and played youth soccer for the San Jose Earthquakes Academy. He is of Iranian descent. College career Bashti played four years of college soccer at Stanford University from 2015–2018. As a 4 year starter, he won 3 national titles with Stanford, recording 19 goals and 13 assists in 88 games in his collegiate career. Laurence Wyke (born 20 September 1996) is an English footballer who currently plays for Major League Soccer side Nashville SC. Career Wyke spent time in the Manchester United academy whilst growing before heading to America to study and play college soccer at Trinity University and Furman University. The Columbia Lions men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Columbia University. The team is a member of the Ivy League of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The Lions fielded their first varsity team in 1906, and have since won 10 Ivy League Championships and have made 14 NCAA tournament appearances.
