Olympic Stadium (Montreal)
Olympic Stadium (french: Stade olympique) is a multi-purpose stadium in Montreal, Canada, located at Olympic Park in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of the city. Built in the mid-1970s as the main venue for the 1976 Summer Olympics, it is nicknamed "The Big O", a reference to both its name and to the doughnut-shape of the permanent component of the stadium's roof. It is also disparagingly referred to as "The Big Owe" in reference to the high cost to the city of its construction and of hosting the 1976 Olympics as a whole. Johanna Klier
Johanna Klier ( Schaller, also known as Schaller-Klier, born 13 September 1952) is a former East German hurdler and Olympic gold medallist. Under her maiden name, she won the gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in the 100 m hurdles. Under her married name, she won the silver medal 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, again in the 100 m hurdles. In 1976–78, and 1980 she was East German champion, also winning indoors in 1978 in the 60 hurdles. At the 1977 World Cup Schaller was runner-up, but she won gold at the 1978 European Championships in the high hurdles, adding a bronze with the sprint relay. She also won the 1977 European Cup and the 1978 European Indoors over 60 hurdles. She married the hurdler Martin Klier on 11 September 1976. Schaller-Klier was educated as a sports teacher and worked at the Pedagogical University of Erfurt / Mulhousen. Tatyana Anisimova () (born 19 October 1949) is a retired hurdler who represented the USSR. Anisimova was born in Grozny and trained at Burevestnik in Leningrad. She won a silver medal at the 1978 European Athletics Championships and at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. She was a minor medallist at the Universiade in 1975 and 1977. 100 Metres Hurdles
The 100 metres hurdles, or 100-meter hurdles, is a track and field event run mainly by women (the male counterpart is the 110 metres hurdles). For the race, ten Hurdling, hurdles of a height of are placed along a straight course of . The first hurdle is placed after a run-up of 13 metres from the starting line. The next 9 hurdles are set at a distance of 8.5 metres from each other, and the home stretch from the last hurdle to the finish line is 10.5 metres long. The hurdles are set up so that they will fall over if bumped into by the runner, but weighted so this is disadvantageous. Fallen hurdles do not count against runners provided that they do not run into them on purpose. Like the 100 metres sprint, the 100 m hurdles begins with athletes in starting blocks.
