Athens, Ontario
Athens ( 2016 Population 3,013) is a township in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located approximately north of the St. Lawrence River, near Brockville, west of Addison, and about south west of Ottawa. Formerly, it was a part of Yonge township before becoming Rear of Yonge and Escott with Athens as its own census division and finally, Athens township. The township consists of the town of Athens and a few other small communities. Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is a Junior ice hockey league operating in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and acts as a second tier to the Central Canada Hockey League. The 16 member teams of the league compete for the Barkley Cup. Dating back to the 1960s, the league was known until 2015 as the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. The League was known from 2015 to 2020 as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2. The Smith Falls Jr Bears are a Junior "B" ice hockey team in Smith Falls, Ontario. The franchise originated as the Westport Rideaus and played in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL).
