Panagiotis Toundas ( el, Παναγιώτης Τούντας; 1886– 23 May 1942) was a Greek composer of the early 20th century. He is probably the most famous representative of the "Smyrna School" and made a notable contribution to the creation of the rebetico style music in Greece. He was born in Smyrna and from a young age he learned to play the mandolin. In the early 20th century became a member of the ''Smyrneiki Estudiantina''. He joined many groups and traveled a lot, especially to the Greek diaspora. After the Great fire of Smyrna he went to Athens. In 1924, he became director of the local annex of Odeon Records. He worked with all the major record labels in Greece and was responsible for the most recordings of the era. In 1931 he assumed the position of art director for Columbia Records and His Master's Voice until 1940. Stelios Kazantzidis (Greek: Στέλιος Καζαντζίδης; 29 August 1931 – 14 September 2001) was one of the most prominent Greek singers. A leading singer of Greek popular music, or Laïkó, he collaborated with many of Greece's foremost composers. Biography Kazantzidis was born in Nea Ionia, in Athens, Greece. He was the first of two brothers born to Haralambos Kazantzidis (of Pontian roots from Ordu) and Gesthimani Kazantzidis, who was a Greek who came from the town of Alanya (known as Alaiya) (Greek Κορακήσιον Korakesion) in what is now southern Turkey and migrated to Greece as a result of the Greco-Turkish War (1919–1922). Loukas Daralas
Loukas Daralas ( el, Λουκάς Νταράλας) (1927–1977) was born in Athens and is perhaps best known as the father of contemporary singer George Dalaras. He was a performer of ''Rebetiko'' music in Greece during the 1950s and early 1960s and is famous for the song "To Vouno" ("The Mountain"), a well-known rebetiko song. He released the album ''Enas Rebetis''. According to the surviving relatives of famous rebetissa Marika Ninou, in an interview with Panos Geramanis on radio in late 2004, Marika Ninou was the one who discovered, hence the first singer to record "To Vouno", one of the last songs recorded by Ninou, prior to her untimely death. The Keti Grei version was issued a short while later and became very popular. Loukas Daralas' recordings were few. There were only two official releases on the now defunct Sonora label.
