Asunción Valdés
Asunción Valdés Nicolau (born 1950) is a Spanish journalist. In 1983 she became the first woman to direct and edit a television news program in Spain. In 1993 she was appointed Director of Media Relations for the Royal Household of Spain, the first woman to hold such a high position with the Head of State. Biography Valdés earned a degree in political science and a journalism title from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1972, and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in social sciences from the Pontifical University of Salamanca in 2007. In 1973 she obtained a scholarship for postgraduate studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, the prestigious institution which was founded by Salvador de Madariaga. After her stay in Bruges, Valdés moved to Brussels to pursue internships at the European Economic and Social Committee and the European Commission. Alicante ( ca-valencia, Alacant) is a city and municipality in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is the capital of the province of Alicante and a historic Mediterranean port. The Zarzuela Palace ( es, Palacio de la Zarzuela ) is the residence and working offices of the reigning monarch of Spain (King Felipe VI), although the official residence of the Spanish royal family is the Royal Palace of Madrid. The Zarzuela Palace is on the outskirts of Madrid, near the Royal Palace of El Pardo, which accommodates visiting heads of state. Henry Plumb, Baron Plumb
Charles Henry Plumb, Baron Plumb, (27 March 1925 – 15 April 2022) was a British politician and farmer who went into politics as a leader of the National Farmers' Union. He later became active in the Conservative Party and was elected as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). He served as an MEP from 1979 to 1999, and was President of the European Parliament from 1987 to 1989, the only Briton to hold the post.
