Astrid Øyre Slind
Astrid Øyre Slind (born 9 February 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. She competed at the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Junior World Championships (U23 class). In 2009 she won the silver medal in the 15 km pursuit, and in 2010 the gold medal in the same event. At the 2013 Winter Universiade she won the bronze medal in the 15 km and the gold medal in the 5 km. She made her World Cup debut in March 2008 at the Holmenkollen ski festival, finishing 44th in the 30 km. In her next race she also collected her first World Cup points, finishing 22nd in the December 2008 Davos 10 km. Another highlight was the March 2009 races in Falun, where she finished 20th in the sprint and 25th overall. Her last World Cup outing came at the 2014 Holmenkollen ski festival. On 6 March 2022, she won the women's edition of Vasaloppet. She represents the sports club Oppdal IL. 2007–08 FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The 2007–08 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was a multi-race tournament over the season for cross-country skiers. It was the 27th official FIS Cross-Country World Cup, World Cup season in cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 27 October 2007 with 800m sprint races for women in Düsseldorf, won by Natalia Matveeva of Russia, who took her first World Cup victory. The season concluded with 2007–08 FIS Cross-Country World Cup Finals, World Cup Finals, a mini-tour held in Bormio, Italy. Finnish skier Virpi Kuitunen won the overall women's cup for the 2nd consecutive season and Lukáš Bauer of Czech Republic won the overall men's cup. The World Cup is organised by the International Ski Federation, FIS who also run world cups and championships in ski jumping, snowboarding and alpine skiing amongst others. FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup is an annual cross-country skiing competition, arranged by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1981. The competition was arranged unofficially between 1973 and 1981, although it received provisional recognition on the 31st FIS Congress, 29–30 April 1977 in Bariloche, Argentina. The first World Cup races were held on 9 January 1982 and were located in Reit im Winkl, West Germany and Klingenthal, East Germany. Bill Koch of the United States and Berit Aunli of Norway were the overall winners in the first season. Rules Competitors attempt to achieve the most points during the season. They compete in two disciplines: Distance and Sprint. Current Distance races are mostly 10 km, 20 km, Skiathlon and 50 km for the men and women. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, also known as FIS (), is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. It was previously known as the International Ski Federation () until 26 May 2022 when the name was changed to include snowboard. Kari Øyre Slind
Kari Øyre Slind (born 22 October 1991) is a Norwegian cross-country skier who represents Oppdal IL. She is the younger sister of the twin sisters Astrid Øyre Slind and Silje Øyre Slind, who are also cross-country skiers. Career In 2008, she won Gold in the 5 km at the Norwegian Junior National Championships, in the time of 12.18.8. That same year she won Bronze at the Spar Cup in cross-country in the K17 class. In March 2010, she participated in the 2010 Norwegian Junior Ski Championships, and was fifth in the 15 km classic and second in the 5 km freestyle. In addition, she received Gold in the 4 × 3,75 km relay with Anne Kjersti Kalvå, Silje Dahl Benum, and Valentine Aagaard on the South Trøndelag first team. Silje Øyre Slind
Silje Øyre Slind (born 9 February 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. She made her World Cup debut in the 2011–12 season opener at Sjusjøen, finishing 32nd. She collected several World Cup points in the 2014–15 season, recording sixth and eight places in Rybinsk in January 2015. She once again broke the top-ten barrier in December 2015, finishing seventh in the Lillehammer sprint. In February 2017 she made her first podiums, in Pyeongchang where she finished second in the sprint and team sprint.
