Astha Raut
Astha Raut ( ne, आस्था राउत) (born 30 April ) is a singer from Nepal. Her first hit song was a remix song ''Saal Ko Paata Tapari'' (सालकाे पात टपरी) from a collection album ''Addiction 2''. She received the Hits FM Music Best Female Pop Vocal Award in 2014. Her second song ''Maya Yo Maya'' (माया याे माया) was from the movie ''Maya's Bar''. Two of her songs ''Chaubandi Ma Patuki'' and ''Jhumke Bulaki'' from her album ''Aadhar'' released on 17 Asad 2070 (B.S.) became superhits. She has also sung many playback songs in Nepali films. Astha Raut is one of the coaches in ''The Voice of Nepal'' Season 2(2019) & her second album (Aadhar 2) was launched on 28 November 2019. The Voice Of Nepal
''The Voice of Nepal'' is the Nepalese format of the international TV singing reality series called ''The Voice''. The show usually have four different coaches (judges), which eventually form a four different team after the selection event called the Blind Audition. Each team has to go through the battle round where contestants are paired with one another within the same team and only half of the total selected contestants from the blind audition are selected for the knockout round. During the knockout round, based on ''The Voice'' format, only the best and strongest contestants who their respective coach consider the best overall are selected by their coaches. Dohori Singers
Dohori ( or ), also known as Lok Dohori, is a type of Nepali folk song usually sung by two teams, one of men and another of women. It is in the form of question and answer where a team sings a question and the opponent replies through an equally lyrical impromptu couplet and vice versa. The term ''dohori'', means 'back and forth' and refers to the exchange of lyrical phrases between the contesting singers. The song production is collaborative and involves many individuals. Like all Nepali folk songs, dohori originated in the rural areas of Nepal and now is sung in both rural and urban settlements and is popular amongst the Nepali speaking diaspora in the UK, US, and Bahrain. The men and women sit on opposite sides and the goal is to keep improvising until one team runs out of witty answers. The dohori is said to have stretched to seven days and nights during the past.
