Assignment Redhead
''Assignment Redhead'' (released in the US as ''Million Dollar Manhunt'') is a 1956 British crime thriller film written and directed by Maclean Rogers. It is based on the novel ''Requiem for a Redhead'' by Lindsay Hardy. The UK title of this film refers to the accordion-playing character central to the plot, Hedy Bergner, but as the movie is shot in black and white that is the only clue to the fact that she is supposed to be a redhead! Premise A murderous international master criminal (played by Ronald Adam), who specialises in providing false travel documents, seeks to get his hands on a hoard of counterfeit cash. Ronald Leigh-Hunt
Ronald Leigh-Hunt (5 October 1920 – 12 September 2005) was a British film and television actor. His father was a stockbroker and he attended the Italia Conti Academy. He began acting whilst serving in the army. Though never a major star, he appeared in over a hundred television and film productions over a forty-year period, including as King Arthur in ''The Adventures of Sir Lancelot'' in the mid-1950s, and ''General Hospital'' in the early 1970s. He appeared in ''Danger Man'' and twice in ''Doctor Who'', as Commander Radnor in ''The Seeds of Death'' (1969) and as Commander Stevenson in ''Revenge of the Cybermen'' (1975); and starred as Colonel Buchan in every episode of the 1960s and 1970s children's TV series ''Freewheelers''. Elwyn Brook-Jones (11 December 1911 – 4 September 1962) was a British theatre, film and television actor. Life Brook-Jones was born in Kuching, Sarawak, on the island of Borneo. After a private education, he attended Jesus College, Oxford. His public debut was in Australia, aged 11, as a concert pianist; he later made cabaret appearances in the US and the Far East. He was a repertory actor, first appearing in London in 1943 in ''Hedda Gabler'' as Judge Brack, before going on to appear in many productions in the West End, films and television. In the BBC children's series ''Garry Halliday'', he was the hero's opponent "The Voice". His most prominent film role was arguably Tober in Carol Reed's ''Odd Man Out'' (1947). He was also Gladwin in Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's ''The Small Back Room'' (1949) and the Emir in ''The Pure Hell of St Trinian's'' (1960). He died in Reading, Berkshire, aged 50.
