Assan Jatta
Assan Jatta (born 26 June 1984) is a Gambian football striker. He currently plays for Steve Biko FC in Gambia. He scored twice in seven league appearances in a Mariekerke shirt since switching to the club from local side Steve Biko in the opening stage of the Belgian third tier campaign in 2011 and has been on the national team of Gambia. In July and August 2008 he joined FC Dallas on a 10-day trial. In July 2009 he joined Columbus Crew SC on trial, but was not signed. Jatta previously played for Lierse in the Belgian First Division. In the 2005-2006 season he played in Gambia for club Steve Biko, and then joined Lierse S.K. In Belgian First Division, he was loaned out to Verbroedering Geel-Meerhout. Steve Biko FC
The Steve Biko Football Club is a football club from Bakau in the West Africa state of Gambia, located near the capital of Banjul. They played in the GFA League First Division, which was the highest league in Gambian football. They won the GFA Cup in 2000. While the football club qualified for the 2002 CAF Cup, they declined to participate. The Steve Biko Football Club was named after the murdered South African civil rights activist Steve Biko. Steve Biko
Bantu Stephen Biko (18 December 1946 – 12 September 1977) was a South African anti-apartheid activist. Ideologically an African nationalist and African socialist, he was at the forefront of a grassroots anti-apartheid campaign known as the Black Consciousness Movement during the late 1960s and 1970s. His ideas were articulated in a series of articles published under the pseudonym Frank Talk. Raised in a poor Xhosa family, Biko grew up in Ginsberg township in the Eastern Cape. In 1966, he began studying medicine at the University of Natal, where he joined the National Union of South African Students (NUSAS). Koninklijke Lierse Sportkring (), often simply known as Lierse, was a Belgian professional football club from the city of Lier in the Antwerp province. AS Verbroedering Geel is a Belgian association football club based in Geel, province of Antwerp. Currently, they play in the Belgian Provincial Leagues. History Founded in 1926 as Meerhout Sport, the club received the matricule number 893. In 1966, Meerhout Sport merged with the other club from the city named Hand in Hand, with matricule 2169.
