Asom Sena
Asom Sena ( Assamese অসম সেনা, English the soldiers of Assam) is a youth wing of All Assam Students Union in Assam. It was formed in Barpeta on December 8, 2005 with the Shiv Sena as its role model for the cause of social justice and reformation of the indigenous people of and within the state Its chief organizer is Lakshman Das and convener is Niranjan Nath. The prime architect of the outfit is Samujjal Bhattacharya, a longtime advisor to AASU. Assamese Language
Assamese (), also Asamiya ( ), is an Indo-Aryan language spoken mainly in the north-east Indian state of Assam, where it is an official language, and it serves as a ''lingua franca'' of the wider region. The easternmost Indo-Iranian language, it has over 23 million speakers. Shiv Sena ( IAST: ''Śiva Sēnā'') () was a right-wing to far-right Marathi regionalist and Hindu ultranationalist political party in India founded in 1966 by cartoonist Bal Thackeray. Originally emerging from nativist movements in Bombay (present-day Mumbai), the party agitated for preferential treatment for the Marathi people over migrants from other parts of India. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) () is an Indian right-wing Hindu organization based on Hindu nationalism. The VHP was founded in 1964 by M. S. Golwalkar and S. S. The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) (Assamese: সংযুক্ত মুক্তি বাহিনী, অসম) is an armed separatist organisation operating in the Northeast Indian state of Assam. It seeks to establish an independent sovereign nation state of Assam for the indigenous Assamese people through an armed struggle in the Assam conflict. The Government of India banned the organisation in 1990 citing it as a terrorist organisation, while the United States Department of State lists it under "other groups of concern." Pradip Gogoi ( Assamese: প্ৰদীপ গগৈ) (alias Samiran Gogoi) is the Vice-Chairman of the outlawed outfit ULFA in Assam. He is also one of the founder members of the outfit. Manab Adhikar Sangram Samiti (MASS) ( Assamese মানৱ অধিকাৰ সংগ্ৰাম সমিতি) is a regional non-profit human rights NGO in Assam. It was founded in 1991 by Parag Kumar Das along with a group of intellectuals and journalists of Assam. The present chairman is Ajit Kumar Bhuyan and its headquarters is at Bamunimoidam, Guwahati.
