Asminderød Church
Asminderød Church (Danish: Asminderød Kirke) is a parish church in Asminderød, now part of Fredensborg, Fredensborg Municipality som 40 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. History A small Romanesque church was built at the site in the first half of the 12th century. It was later in the century expanded westwards. The thick granite walls indicate that they may already then have carried a tower. The current tower and the cross vaulted ceiling of the nave date from the 15th century. The porch on the north side of the church was constructed in the first half of the 13th century and the chancel was expanded to its current size in around 1500. The southern side nave was constructed in brick in 1736. The small sacresty was added in 1839. Interior and furnishings The pulpit dates from the late 16th century, save the canopy which is from 1630. Humlebæk Church
Humlebæk Church (Danish: Humlebæk Kirke) is a parish church in Humlebæk, Fredensborg Municipality, som 20 km north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. History Humlebæk was originally located in the vast Asminderød Parish. A chaplain conducted outdoor services for the residents of Humlebæk and Sletten in Lave Skov and at Sletten School. A group of residents from Asminderød, Grønholt and Fredensborg starting working for a new church in Humlebæk in 1866. Ballet master August Bournonville was a member of the committee and chamberlain C. Brun from Krogerup provided a piece of land and also contributed financially to the project. The architect Frederik Vilhelm Tvede was charged with the design of the new church. The foundation stone was set on 13 June 1868 in the presence of Christian IX and the completed church was already inaugurated on 20 December the same year. Francis Zachariae
Francis James Zachariae (29 March 1852 – 6 September 1936) was a Danish businessman, local historic publisher and philanthropist. He is today mainly remembered for publishing ''Før og Nu'' (I-IX and Supplements I-II) with topographical-historical images of Copenhagen from 1915 to 1927. Early life and education Zachariae was born in Copenhagen, the son of medical doctor Georges James Zachariae (1818–88) and Margaret Fanny Lang (1824-1909). He graduated from Efterslægtselskabets Skole in 1868 and was thereafter an apprentice in S. Seidelin and Benny Goldschmidt in Copenhagen and Robinow & Majoribank in Glasgow. Hans Christian Harald Tegner, known as Hans Tegner (30 November 1853 – 2 April 1932), was a Danish artist and illustrator. Rudolph Rothe
Rudolph Rothe (18 October 1802 – 30 January 1877) was a Danish landscape architect who was awarded the high-ranking title of ''etatsråd'' for his achievements. Talented in both the practical and theoretical aspects of landscape gardening, he exerted considerable influence on the development of the art in Denmark. Frederik Paludan-Müller
Frederik Paludan-Müller (7 February 1809 – 27 December 1876) was a Denmark, Danish poet, the third son of Jens Paludan-Müller and born in Kerteminde, on the island of Funen. In 1819 his father was transferred to Odense, and Frederik began to attend the Latin school there. In 1828 he passed to the University of Copenhagen.
