Asif ( ar, آصف) is an Arabic masculine given name. In Persian and Urdu it is often pronounced as 'Asif' or 'Asef' though the original form is 'Asaf'. Mohammad Asif (Urdu: , born 20 December 1982) is a Pakistani former cricketer who played for the Pakistani national cricket team between 2005 and 2010. Asif was born in Sheikhupura, and has played first-class cricket for Khan Research Labs, the National Bank, Quetta, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Leicestershire.
