The Asia Pacific Film Institute is a film school in the Philippines. It is the first independently run and self-supporting film school in the country. Celso Adolfo Castillo (September 12, 1943 November 26, 2012) was a Filipino film director and screenwriter. Early life and education Castillo was born in Siniloan, Laguna on September 12, 1943. He became a movie director, scriptwriter and actor. He was the son of lawyer-writer Dominador Ad Castillo, and Marta Adolfo. Celso Castillo studied at Manuel L. Quezon University and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature in 1964. Career Castillo started as a writer for a comic magazine. With the help of his father, he published his own magazine where he wrote all the stories from cover to cover, using different names as authors.
