Asia (AD) Durr (born April 5, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). They played college basketball for the Louisville Cardinals. College career After the 2017–18 season, Durr was named the ACC Player of the Year. Durr received 29 of 31 votes for pre-season All-American, prior to the 2018–19 season. Durr finished their career at Louisville with career averages of 17.8 points, 2.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds. The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) is an American professional basketball league. It is composed of twelve teams, all based in the United States. The league was founded on April 22, 1996, as the women's counterpart to the National Basketball Association (NBA), and league play started in 1997. The regular season is played from May to September, with the All Star game being played midway through the season in July (except in Olympic years) and the WNBA Finals at the end of September until the beginning of October. Five WNBA teams have direct NBA counterparts and normally play in the same arena. They play in the same arena as funding is sparse due to lack of spectators. 2022 Atlanta Dream Season
The 2022 WNBA season was be the 15th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team began the season on May 14, 2022, on the road against the Dallas Wings. This was be the first season for new head coach Tanisha Wright. Wright was hired on October 12, 2021. Dan Padover was hired as the team's new General Manager, while Darius Taylor moved into the Assistant General Manager role - after serving as the team's interim head coach in the 2021 season. The season stated well for Wright and the Dream, as they finished May 5–3. However, a stronger schedule in June slowed down their momentum as they finished the month 4–8, including a four game and three game losing streak. 2022 WNBA Season
The 2022 WNBA season was the 26th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Chicago Sky were the defending champions. The WNBA's second Commissioner's Cup took place during the regular season, with the Las Vegas Aces winning over the Sky. In the playoffs, the Aces were the first seed and won the Finals over the Connecticut Sun. The regular season was expanded to 36 games per team, is the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. A 36-game season was originally scheduled for 2020, but the plan was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This season also marked the return of an all-series playoffs, which was last used in 2015, instead of the prior schedule of two rounds of single-elimination games and byes for the higher seeded teams. 2019 New York Liberty Season
The 2019 WNBA season was the 23rd season for the New York Liberty franchise of the Women's National Basketball Association, WNBA. The Liberty opened the regular season at home on May 24 versus the 2019 Indiana Fever season, Indiana Fever. The Liberty started slowly, losing their first four games of the season. Winning five of their next eight games took them to a 5–7 record at the end of June. The team had plenty of reasons to be positive, as three of those five wins came against eventual playoff teams. The Liberty won their first two games in July to put together a four game win streak and reach a .500 record. However, they could not keep their momentum, losing three of their last four games in July. August proved a difficult month as the team only won one game. The 2019 WNBA season was the 23rd season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Seattle Storm were the defending champions. Raquel Carrera Quintana (born 31 October 2001) is a Spanish professional basketball player for Valencia Basket of the Liga Femenina in Spain. She was drafted by the Atlanta Dream with the 15th overall in the 2021 WNBA draft, but her draft rights were later traded to the New York Liberty. Carrera is the highest Spanish player ever picked in the WNBA draft. Carrera spent three years in Spain's Women's League 2 with Celta Zorka, where she averaged 12.3 points and 6.5 rebounds. She signed with Valencia in 2019 on a five-year contract. After signing with Valencia, Carrera spent a year with Araski while recovering from injury before returning to Valencia.
