2022 Atlanta Dream Season
The 2022 WNBA season was be the 15th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team began the season on May 14, 2022, on the road against the Dallas Wings. This was be the first season for new head coach Tanisha Wright. Wright was hired on October 12, 2021. Dan Padover was hired as the team's new General Manager, while Darius Taylor moved into the Assistant General Manager role - after serving as the team's interim head coach in the 2021 season. The season stated well for Wright and the Dream, as they finished May 5–3. However, a stronger schedule in June slowed down their momentum as they finished the month 4–8, including a four game and three game losing streak. The Dream's struggles continued in July as they finished the month 3–7. One bright spot in the month was a win over regular season champions Las Vegas, in Las Vegas. WNBA Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference of the Women's National Basketball Association is made up of six teams. From the league's second season in 1998 through 2015, the WNBA operated separate playoff brackets for its Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference's playoff was divided into two playoff rounds, the Conference Semi-Finals and the Conference Finals, with the Conference Finals winners receiving Conference Championships and advancing to the WNBA Finals to determine the WNBA champion. In the final years of this playoff scheme, all in-conference playoff series were best-of-three. Since 2016, the league has abandoned separate conference playoffs in favor of a single league-wide playoff bracket. Tianna Hawkins
Tianna Bartoletta née Madison (born August 30, 1985) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the long jump and short sprinting events. She is a two-time Olympian with three gold medals. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she placed fourth in the 100m race then won her first gold by leading off the world record-setting 4 × 100 m relay team. At the 2016 Summer Olympics she won two more golds, first with a personal best to win the long jump then again leading off the victorious 4 × 100 m relay team. Other achievements include winning the long jump World Championship in 2005 and 2015, plus the long jump World Indoor Championship in 2006. She also was a pusher on the U.S. bobsled team in 2012. Barbara Turner (basketball)
Barbara Renee Turner (born June 8, 1984) is a former American professional basketball player currently working as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Paul Goriss
Paul Goriss is an Australian basketball coach who coaches the University of Canberra Capitals. He is an assistant coach of the Australian women's national basketball team (the Opals) and for the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA. Biography Paul Goriss moved to Townsville when he was ten years old, and began playing basketball there. When he was seventeen he was asked to coach his younger brother Ben's under-14 side. He wound up coaching his brother' teams for several years, right up to the under-23s. He won two state titles with the Townsville under-18s. Kristy Wallace
Kristy Wallace (born 3 January 1996) is an Australian basketball player for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and for the Melbourne Boomers of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). N'dea Jones
N'dea Jones (born May 25, 1999) is an American professional basketball player who plays for BC Enisey of the VTB United League. She played college basketball for the Texas A&M Aggies and was drafted 23rd overall in the 2021 WNBA draft. She plays the power forward position. Jones was born in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She attended Brookwood High School, where she averaged 17.7 points at 13.9 rebounds. She was the #79 recruit going into college and the #18 forward. The Los Angeles Sparks (LA Sparks) are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. Chennedy Carter (born November 14, 1998) is an American professional basketball player. She played college basketball for the Texas A&M Aggies. Nia Coffey (born June 11, 1995) is an American professional basketball player with the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA).
