Ashutosh Singh (tennis)
Ashutosh Singh (born 25 September 1982) is a former professional tennis player from India. Biography A right-handed player from Delhi, Singh comes from a family deeply involved in tennis. He is the son of Balram Singh, a national tennis coach. His brother Lalit is a chair umpire who has officiated at grand slam level. Tennis career Singh competed mostly on the Futures and Challenger circuits. Most successful as a doubles player, he won 17 Futures titles and two Challenger titles in doubles. His only main draw appearance on the ATP Tour came in the doubles at the 2007 Chennai Open. He and Vishal Uppal were entered as wildcards and lost in the first round to Tomas Behrend and Robin Vik. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Purav Raja ( ; born 7 December 1985) is an Indian tennis player. He specializes in doubles and competes on the ATP World Tour. He has 2 ATP world tour level titles in men's doubles. He represents India in the Davis Cup. Personal and early life Purav Raja grew up in Mumbai and began playing tennis when he was 7 years old. He cites indoor carpet as his preferred surface, with his favourite shot being the drop shot. Raja was educated at Millfield in Somerset. Harsh Mankad (born 10 November 1979) is a former world ranked ATP Professional tennis player from India. He played Davis Cup for India between 2001–2010 and was the No. 1 singles player on the team for several of those years. Personal life He is the grandson of world-renowned cricketer Vinoo Mankad, and the son of Indian Test cricketer and Mumbai captain Ashok Mankad and pioneer women's tennis player Nirupama Vasant.
