Ashoknagar Oil Field
Ashoknagar Oilfield (MBA Basin: Ashoknagar 1 Well) is a petroleum extracting-site located at Ashoknagar in the North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. The oil field is located 48 km from the state capital Kolkata. The oil field was discovered in 2018 by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. This is the first oil field in West Bengal and East India. December 20, 2020, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the oil and natural gas reserves at Ashoknagar. History In Ashoknagar gas was first found under 2,300 meters from the surface after came oil. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Oil India were awarded the block in Bengal basin under the Mahanadi-Bengal- Andaman division, way back in 2009. The first phase of exploration got over in 2014. Ashoknagar Kalyangarh (অশোকনগর কল্যাণগড়) is a city and a municipality in Barasat Sadar subdivision of North 24 Parganas district in the state of West Bengal, India. Ashoknagar is the first discovered oil field in West Bengal and East India. The oil field was discovered in 2018 by ONGC. Mumbai High Field
The Mumbai High Field, formerly called the Bombay High Field, is an offshore oilfield 176 km off the west coast of Mumbai, in Gulf of Cambay region of India, in about 75 m of water. The oil operations are run by India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). Mumbai High field was discovered by an India, Indo-Soviet Union, Soviet oil exploration team operating from the seismic exploration vessel ''Academic Arkhangelsky'' during mapping of the Gulf of Khambhat (earlier Cambay) in 1964–67, followed by a detailed survey in 1972. Haldia Refinery is an oil refinery operated by Indian Oil Corporation, located in Haldia city in the state of West Bengal. This refinery has a capacity of 8 million tonnes per year. For processing 2.5 MMTPA of Middle East crude, two sectors were commissioned in January 1975 - one for producing fuel products and the other for Lube base stocks. The fuel sector was built with French collaboration and the Lube sector with Romanian collaboration. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is a grade or mix of crude oil; the term is also used to refer to the spot price, the futures price, or assessed price for that oil. In colloquial usage, WTI usually refers to the WTI Crude Oil futures contract traded on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).
